very good all round
friendly helpful reception staff, great rooms, well laid out and contemporary styling. all the little extras you get in a 4 star hotel, (slippers, robes etc) 9th floor room meant great views over the zoo. nice and quiet location, with a short walk to the station, or to a fab cafe around the corner, which was great for breakfast. had a night cap in the bar one evening, it was like most other hotel bars, hushed, and slightly sterile, but that's fairly typical. Lcoation meant that everywhere was accessible, the airport and the city centre. we made great use of the ABC welcome card! Would stay there again.

beautiful modern and freindly hotel
We stayed here for a long weekend at the end of April 2013. The hotel is beautiful and modern, very clean and well presented. the breakfast was amazing with a great variety of hot and cold food to suit everybody. The staff where very friendly and helpful and always happy to help and give advice. The pool and gym area was nice an relaxing and the sauna area was nice too, be warned though if you're English or a bit prudish the Germans like to strip off completely in the sauna :) We took our two year old daughter and we found the hotel was very good with children also, she had a great time.

Good central location with comfortable rooms
I spent a long weekend in Berlin recently and stayed at this hotel. I selected it based on trip advisor. The hotel is well situation near to the zoo the 100 and 200 bus which stops near the hotel is a straight shot to some of the main attractions including Reichstag building. I enjoyed my stay and the room service food was very good. The buffet breakfast, while great quality, was a bit pricey (hence the lower rating below). The front desk staff and wait staff were very friendly and welcoming. The concierge sent us to the wrong boat dock for the Berlin river tour. It was an honest mistake and one that was rectified with a refund on the tour and an apology. Housekeeping did a great job too. The pool and gym looked inviting, but unfortunately the pool was closed when I wanted to swim. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

So nearly excellent.
Only two little things I'd change:One; make the big bed out of a big mattress. Not two little mattresses. Two little ones is not as good as one big one, it really isn't. Half your leg vanishing down a hole when you're trying to, eeeerm, yeah, that. A vanishing leg then is very annoying.Two; serve proper tea. I don't want fruit tea, mint tea, dingobongopinkyberry tea or any other such claptrap nonsense. Just tea please. My fault for not sticking a couple of teabags in my suitcase I suppose but there's nothing quite like a cup of actual tea after a long journey. Annoyingly, the hotel bar downstairs does serve actual tea (ish (there isn't any in the rooms)) but we only found this out an hour before leaving.Three; did I say two? This is more like a half thing. Don't charge 27 euros for breakfast. A table of pastry/juice/tea/cereal/cheese/meat is not worth 27 Euros. 27 roubles? Possibly. 27 1930s German marks? More likely. The sandwich shop directly across the road is very reasonably priced, has free wifi, polite service and really good coffee. Juice squeezed while you wait too.Four: Yeah I know, I said two. Don't charge for wifi. At least don't charge 3 Euros an hour. This is stupid, it costs you next to nothing and your markup is several thousand percent. At a few quid for a week you'd still make a mint and nobody would complain. At 3 Euros an hour I went elsewhere.Otherwise, room was clean, view was great, desk staff pleasant, polite and helpful...Location wise it is better for the zoo/shopping end of town than it is the sightseeing end although it's all perfectly walkable if you're fit and the public transport decent if you're not (or too full of sausage and beer).

Excellent breakfast, splendid spa facilities.
Spent 3 nights in a standard double on my own, in a room with a view of the zoo. Great bed and pillows, affordable room service (7,50 euros for a soup, under 12 euros for pasta..), great toiletries from roger et gallet. The staff are very professional, the spa is accessible on every level by a different elevator, so that you don¿¿t need to come down with all other customers going to the reception desk. The spa is fantastic, I used it every morning and even before going to bed. The swimming pool is huge for a hotel, the saunas are nicely decorated, there is a hammam, a dry sauna, an area of relaxation were you can put your feet in water while you take a break, two jet showers and a sink with real ice to cool your body after the treat. Excellent by all standards. Another great thing is breakfast, as in all pullmans. Fresh tasty food, good pastries, good quality cheese, vegetables and a cook to prepare your own omelette...I would say that it is not a cheap hotel but you get what you paid for. The only problem, and I must admit that it is a huge minus, is that you have to pay to have internet access in your room. I don¿¿t know internet rates in Germany, but for a hotel of this kind it should be free.
