Stopped here for one week on business have no complaints regarding food it was all well presented and tasted great. The staff made me feel very welcome and I would have no issues about staying here again. However if you are driving there is a reason why the parking spaces beneath the trees are always free.. the birds seem to use cars as target practice and could barely recognise mine after one day. I suggest you drive round to the front hope this is helpful

Perfect, cheap airport hotel. Just what you are looking for if you need a place to crash before an early flight.Nice pub adjacent to hotel as well.The rooms are not great, a little tight, but serviceable. Was exactly what we were looking for.

Stayed here before going on holiday, as we only stayed one night and ate out there was not much to comment on apart from the tired and dated room.On our return from our holiday we returned back to the Menzies Chequers to find things only got worse.The receptionist asked if we wanted to add a breakfast to our bill although they had finished serving breakfast. When we agreed to pay for a breakfast she told us we could not have one as they had finished serving and became argumentative, and denied asking this question. We were given room number 139, when we went to get some sleep after a long flight, we walked down the corridor and could smell tobacco, we opened the room door to be hit with a very strong smell of tobacco, as non smokers the smell was disgusting, it would have been like sleeping in an ash tray. The cleaners were also in the next room with the radio on loud, so after our flight it would be hard to sleep anyway. We went to inform the receptionist of this and was given an executive room No 303. When we went to this room we noticed some rooms say non smoking. Why in this day and age are people allowed to smoke in the rooms but not able to smoke inside the building, there is a plaque outside saying No smoking past this point. Room 303 is supposed to be an executive room, if I had paid executive prices for this room I would have asked for a refund. There was bad mould around the tap area of the bath, 2 rusty screws half holding the soap dish, which was very loose and hanging off. The bathroom had not been cleaned and there were dark curly hairs on the floor (will leave it to your imagination to what these were). The paintwork on bath side and outside windows was flaky and there was no valance on the bed, this left the bed exposed showing it was a very dated shabby bed, not executive standard. The toilet was not able to flush toilet paper down in one go and had to flush it 4 or 5 times, even though it was only 2 squares of paper. The armchair was threadbare.The room was dated and was in desperate need of a refurbishment. We have stayed here in previous years but will not be returning. We only stayed for 5 hours to catch up on some sleep and planned to stay the night, but taking into consideration the poor state of the hotel we did not stay the night and left around 6 pm to drive back home.Do not recommend this hotel until they have had a refurbishment. We will not be returning. When we complained the receptionist did not want to know. On our first visit we were sent an email asking to give feedback, when we complained on our second visit we have had no such email for feedback, perhaps they only want feedback from people who are satisfied or to afraid to speak there mind.

Room clean, in fact spotless, staff very friendly, peaceful nights sleep, very relaxing. Breakfast was very enjoyable, lots of choice. Didn't get chance to try restaurant as they had a couple of tour groups in, so we went to cafe rouge in Reigate, which I can highly recommend.

I am not a complainer at all but I feel I have to feed this back as I am very disappointed in the service I have received from your staff. I was booked into this hotel through my employer and I would strongly recommend anybody to NOT book to stay here. Upon arrival the receptionist staff checked me in, and asked me to pay for the room, I had to advise her that she had charged me too little and In fact I was Staying for 2 nights so I needed to pay more. She then provided my room key, which didnt work. I went back to reception and she eventually sorted this. The first night of me staying I was place on the ground floor looking out Onto the car park, the window opened so far that it was easy for someone to just 'step' into the room. As I didn't feel safe enough to keep my window open I closed it onto a vent so air could still get in, and I went to sleep, I woke around 2am with soaking wet hair because it was unbearably hot! The next day I went to complain to reception and the drab receptionist that was on at about 4.30pm youngish girl in her 20's was a waste of space ..she got on the defensive and asked if I checked my air conditioning (which we didnt even have in the room) and if we checked the radiators (which I had). She said I could have a fan which I accepted, she brought it to my room and I asked her to just double check the radiators, she checked and said 'yes they are on' so I asked her to see if she could turn them off as I'd already tried and it didnt change, she tried to turn them off and then said ' oh yes they are broke sorry about that' so I was left to my only option of the small fan she brought me. Luckily it made it slightly better the 2nd night, and I was not Staying for any longer so I had no need to complain once again. All I can say is the best thing about this hotel is the breakfast. Even the service we received from the bar later on on the 2nd night was horrendous and they was NOT helpful just gave us bad attitude. Overall I'd never ever stay here again , and definitely never recommend it. Considering this is an airport hotel id hate the thought of Staying here before or after my holiday/break.
