We had to travel through NY state, and not knowing the area, used Trip Advisor to make a decision on where to stay. We had no reservations and had found a Hotels.com booklet at a Service Area that had a coupon for a walk-in Rate of $84.99 (What a bargain as the room we were looking for usually goes for $143 a night). We called to make sure they had availabilty...and the girl that answered the phone- Rose, was so helpful. When we got to the hotel, I could not believe how gorgeous the lobby was....and Rose was there to check us in. She upgraded us to a luxury King Room...and we got a room on the 10th floor with a beautiful view of the river. She was so nice..I chatted with her for a few minutes and told her that we were on our way to pick up a rescue dog...and she went over to a drawer and gave me a baggie with little teenie bone shaped dog biscuits for our new dog. What a sweet thing to do. When we walked into the room, we were so impressed. The rooms were beautiful, the decor relaxing and totally SPOTLESS. Bed was comfortable and there were actually 5 pillows (some feather) and a duvet on the comforter that you could tell was super clean. My guess is they wash them with each guest. Plenty of handy plugs to plug in our phones, etc..a 2 cup Keurig type coffee maker (made 2 indiviual cups at a time), and a mini fridge. The toiletries were Crabtree and Evelyn. The black out drapes were top notch...it was pitch black in our room which we appreciated. It was also super quier. Loved the curved shower curtain rod and the extra plush and absorbent towels and the large flat screen TV. Did not have breakfast there...we slept in and took advantage of the noon checkout time. Every staff member we passed said hi and have a good day...one even came over and pressed the elevator button for us. I have stayed at tons of hotels...chains and indiviudally owned and I actually managed a hotel at one time...this was by far the BEST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT. Worth every penny even at the full regular rate. Ran into the manager on the way out and I was glad I got to tell him how great we thought this hotel was. He was extremely nice! Last weekend I attended an event at this hotel. The upgrades that have been made to the property have made a huge difference from what the hotel used to be. From the buffet at the event I had marinated chicken, mashed potatoes and salad which was both appetizing and filling. Beyond everything else however was the service we received. The Banquet staff was caring and helpful without being in the way. They made sure we had everything we needed and attended to all of our requests. This hotel is definitely ready to become DoubleTree!

We were lucky enough to stay in one of the newly renovated rooms and I have to say how very beautiful it was. Everything we could have possibly needed or wanted was within reach. Ate at the in-house Bistro and the staff was wonderful! Food was delicious and arrived quickly. A great performance in the Hotel bar by Tom O'Conner was a wonderful way to relax and wind down. The hotel pool and spa were still a little cold from renovations, but they looked very clean and large! From start to finish this was an excellent getaway and I would highly recommend anybody looking to stay in Binghamton, give these guys a call!

This hotel is cozy and nice. I stayed in a penthouse suite. The rooms are nice and large. The people at the front desk were nice too! The continental breakfast wasn't bad.. they had a decent selection of toast, english muffins, yogurt, cereal and fruit. The only bad thing was it got really hot in the middle of the night so I had to adjust the temperature again.

The fitness facility for this hotel doubles as a membership club. It is multiple steps up from the typical hotel fitness facility (space somewhere with two machines, no natural light, ... just enough to allow checking the box for "yes, a fitness facility.") Cardio, machines, freeweights. Plus an indoor pool (which time did not allow exploring.) My best on-the-road workout in months. Our room was one of the just renovated: everything new in the last month.
