The Hotel Tomo is a great value for families. We've stayed here previously and we will be back.Rooms are good sized with a small desk, refrigerator and flat screen television. We had two queen sized beds in our room. With more than two people in the room, the extra pillow and blanket in the closet was appreciated (both were clean). The bathroom sink is located outside of the tub/shower and toilet room which worked out well for our family, The housekeeping staff were efficient, accommodated our schedule and our room was cleaned well each day (thank you!). The hotel front desk staff were helpful and answered questions about the area. Some of the staff were there the last time that we visited which is a positive sign that there is staff continuity and people who care about their hotel. The staff allowed us to park our car to unload luggage in front of the hotel and check in so that we did not have to find parking. That was very nice. There is a small parking garage that is owned by the hotel and we found that it was frequently full by the time that we returned for the evening. That was no problem, as there is underground parking nearby (10 minute walk) in Japantown that is secure and costs less than the hotel garage. If you don't need to use a car, the city bus lines to go downtown (or elsewhere) are nearby and very convenient and easy to use. We went to the local Japanese food market (two blocks away) to purchase fruit and other snacks to keep in the refrigerator. If you have kids, try the different flavors of Japanese soda pop!! Japantown is located across the street and has a number of restaurants, cafes and interesting shops. There were other hotels nearby, but our family doesn't need things such as high-end fancy chandeliers and marble - we really liked staying at the Hotel Tomo and we will be back.I hope that this review was informative, as I originally found the Hotel Tomo by reading reviews on tripadvisor. Large room with good facilities. The staff is very proactive and help us to discover the city efficiently,\As french tourist, we were very fond of the Japanese districts, Very nice Japanese restaurants all around the hotel

The Hotel staff is so friendly. It is a really nice, clean property in a great location. We were very impressed and will definitely stay again. We arrived late, they helped us right in. When my son admired a movie playing on the lobby tv, they offered to let him borrow it for the room. The bathroom was a little dark, but otherwise, it was a great room and really really great for the price.

I really enjoyed this location and felt safe walking to restaurants in the area. The luxurious bed linens were a nice touch however towels and washcloths were different quality each day - cheap some days, nice on other days. The room was clean and roomy - my compliments to Housekeeping. The ice maker on 7th floor did not work for the 10 days I was there (I was told when I checked in that it would be repaired the following day). The ice maker on the 3rd floor was working fine if you knew how to "jiggle" the ice chute the right way. The restaurant had pretty good service and the food was okay. Just don't order the French toast. Overall, it was a good experience!

Located infront of Japan town mall , 10mins from China Town and 10 mins from Fishermen wharf are the best selling points from this Hotel.Room is very clean , big and the bed are very comfortable . The decoration are simple and all you need from a five star hotel , the Tomo hotel also provides it. All staff are very helpful and the breakfast restaurant at Cafe Mums are excellent. Their boss will help you to satisfied your request for breakfast. I have a Japanese noodles for my second day breakfastWill request a same Hotel when I am back to San Francisco
