Don't book this hotel
Looked at this hotel online. It looked nice. When we arrived, the concierge was rude but I did not want to be a judgemental American. Our room was tiny, dirty, next to the elevator and the wallpaper was peeling. The next two rooms he showed us, the blankets were filthy and smelled horrible. When I asked if I could upgrade, I was told they were booked. Call my agent and got OUT of that hotel. As I was checking out, the manager asked if I wanted an upgraded room. I told him that his concierge said they were booked and we left. For the same money, I am at hotel Victoria Palace around the corner, still in a great location.

Convenient Location and nice bathroom
Spent a week here after we decided to move back to the center of the city from LaDefense, where we stayed for another week during our visit to Paris.As it was the last minute booking, I couldn¿¿¿t get the other choices on my list and I was suggested to try this by the travel agent, and it was said to be an ¿¿¿upgrade¿¿¿. So we paid more for the ¿¿¿upgrade¿¿¿ reservation and moved in this expensive hotel. The best part of this place was the large, clean and bright bathroom, which appeared to be good for the North America standard.(I think this was the major area of renovation in the hotel, if there was one.)The room was spacious too, clean but dark. Yet we found it a dilemma to open the window and pull up the curtains. If we kept it close, the room was dark and stuffy, as the air conditioning was not quite working. When we opened the window, we saw other guests in their rooms from the other two sides of the narrow courtyard. It happened that most windows were opened and we heard the noise and smelt the smoke as some one was smoking in front of her window¿¿¿Location might be another positive thing about this hotel. It was quite close to the Montparnasse station and the Metro, also close to the bus terminal. Convenient for shopping, taking public transit and eating, as there were lots of restaurants around. Hotel design was old fashioned, but lack of the old world charm. Some of the walls at the hall way upstairs were cracked and needed repair. If it happened to be a flood, the restaurant would be a disaster¿¿¿ As to the food, honestly speaking, the buffet breakfast here was boring.Some staff at the reception was helpful, and some were kind to let me use the computer free at late evening when it was not busy, and as I mentioned that I only needed a few minutes to check emails. Then, to call a taxi to airport was another story (when we dealt with another staff.)To conclude, this hotel was ¿¿¿above average¿¿¿ comparing with many other places in Paris, yet it was not up to the 4star level, considering many undesirable details. If I paid less for the week I stayed, I might consider to rate it as V.G. for the merits of the bathroom and the location, but thinking of how much we paid for a night here¿¿¿ I only felt comfortable to give a 3.5

Nice hotel in Paris
Great location on left side of the Seine just off rue du Montparnasse. A walk to Eiffel Tower is appx 3 miles, we guessed. Walk there and grab a bus back, or walk round trip for a good 6 miles to work off the red wine and foie gras you know you over-consumed the night before.Rooms are clean if smallish. Our deluxe room was small, but not unexpected in Paris. We had AC problems the first couple of days. It appeared that the staff "fixing" it while we were at dinner was to turn it down from 15 degrees C, to 0 degrees C. If little air is coming out and what's coming out while set at 15, when the room is above 15, isn't cool, it's not going to be any cooler turning it down to zero. We left a window open the first night and it was comfortable enough.Staff was relatively helpful, on average, but not effusively so. That's Paris. While it would have been nice to see a bit more effort on the part of the staff, their level of engagement with, and helpfulness to, us as guests was acceptable.This is a solid four-star hotel, but when you're talking US $500+ nightly room rates, you can spend a few bucks more and stay in what this reviewer considers a true five star. Fabulous hotel
What a fabulous hotel. Perfectly located to all bus and metro lines. plenty of restaurants a d shopping nearby. The rooms are beautifully decorated with fabulous bathrooms. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the selection was enormous. Staff extremely kind and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and we will return.

Lovely hotel
This is a lovely hotel in a good and quiet location. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful and we were made to feel very welcome. The hotel is very clean and the breakfasts were good with plenty of variety. Our room was bright and comfortable and the bathroom was modern and spotless. There are lots of restaurants nearby and a great little market which we really enjoyed. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return - hope that will be soon!
