Stayed in this hotel overnight on a buisness trip to Amsterdam and I adon't think this hotel is 4 star. It is a fairly old property and the photos on their website aren't representative of the hotel.ProsNear to the airportHotel has a shuttle ( which is very common for Amsterdam hotels)clean roomConsOld poor access to transport - infrequent bus about 5-10minutes away from the hotel.I would only choose to come back to this hotel if I am driving and their a very very good offer.

Solid hotel, with a couple solid drawbacks.
This hotel has all of the things that you would hope a hotel would have: Comfy beds, free (functioning!!) Wi-Fi, mini fridge, ice machine and a sufficient, albeit small, gym.It's ideal for anyone in transit: arriving late from the airport, or leaving very early in the mornings. However, on its own, you wouldn't want to make this your home base for a vacation as the hotel is far too isolated. There is nothing within walking distance with the exception of a gas station.. and downtown Amsterdam is a 32 Euro cab ride away. (or 25 minute bus ride)A stand-out disappointment of the hotel is the surprise cost of their breakfast. I travel A LOT and out of roughly 40 or 50 hotels around Europe and the world, this hotel has, by far, the most expensive breakfast I have ever come across. And while the selection of food is..acceptable.., (standard eggs, bacon, yogurt offerings, etc) there is nothing being served that warrants the brutal 20.5 euros. Each. That beat the previous most expensive breakfast I'd seen by more than 5 euros. And with nothing in the immediate area, their breakfast is the only option for food. Absolutely Brutal. In the end, a fine hotel that is not meant for lengthy stays. Bring your own breakfast.

MERCURE AIRPORT HOTEL AMSTERDAM - SORT OF ALRIGHT
I had business meetings in Amsterdam outskirts, flights in and out and did not want to be too far from the City centre. The Mercure seemed to fit in terms of location, but...* The shuttle bus was infrequent; was not available on arrival; and had to be arranged on departure;* Public transport was not really available save by shuttle bus to Schipol and then all the usual.On the other hand, the reception staff were helpful and one of them drove me herself to Schipol when the bus was not scheduled.Rooms were old-fashioned Mercure, very basic and small. Bathrooms as usual excellent. Public spaces were boring and crowded, redeemed by the helpful and friendly staff, who were determined to help me enjoy my stay. But...Before we arrived my card was debited the base rooms' rate; once we checked in, the card was debited again the full rooms' rate plus an allowance; at 8-hour intervals through the stay the card was debited again and again, so that at check-out I had stupid amounts showing as billed. The reception staff were not able to help much - it's the system - but I had not met such a system with Accor before (for example, on the previous night in London). I felt myself to have been judged untrustworthy and it made me unhappy (as well as severely affecting the card I was using). Yet I am a frequent guest at Accor with the A-Club card at a high level.The restaurant was poorly designed but the food was really good in the evening. Breakfast was a bit disappointing - no butter available, for example, and a limited choice of food. However, the staff again did their very best and were the redeeming feature of a fairly poor hotel, taken overall.I am almost always happy with Accor and it was my choice to stay in an Airport Hotel. If you have to do the same, this hotel will be better than alright, but only thanks to the efforts of the staff. If you can choose an Accor in the city, you would be more comfortable.

hotel promise to refund the early check in fees but still not yet received
I had pay mercure hotel in full amount including the early check in fees before i checked in.However on 6apr2013, the hotel staff forget to arrange early check in for me.Thus, hotel staff agree to credit back the early checkin fees to my credit card.However, it had been more than 10 working days and i not yet received the credit amount.I keep on email the mercure hotel and found out they credit to wrong credit card no which does not belong to me. I told them clearly which credit card to refund and i also use the credit card to pay my bicycle rental.I feel that mercure staff do it on purpose on the wrong credit card no. They even photocopy my credit card as refund card.Up till now, mercure still haven't refund to me and the reservations department was taking too long time to settle this issue! Very unhappy about their reservation and refund department!

Nice hotel / dependable service
Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights to visit Keukenhof and Aalsmeer Flower Auction (FloraHolland). The hotel is about 10-minutes bus ride from Schiphol. To get to the hotel, there is either a free hotel shuttle (infrequent) or a scheduled bus (took bus 197, cost EUR 4, bus stop Anderlechtlaan). Check-in was quick and did not require lengthy credit card pre-authorizations and form fill-ins. The room was a tad small but clean and very nicely decorated with modern designs. The room was equipped with a teapot and a selection of teas which is always appreciated. Free wi-fi in the room was easy to connect (no passwords) and quick.I liked breakfasts a lot (were included in the room rate) - good selection of everything + fresh OJ.I would not hesitate staying in this hotel again when in Amsterdam next time.
