Still awesome
I wrote a review for here long ago. I just wanted to update everyone that I still come here every week for work and stay at this property. In fact, I'm in room 201 right now. I have watched front desk families grow up and move away since 2005(!) and it is still my favourite place to stay in Redwood City.Drop me a line if you have any questions.

Clean, meets your basic needs
The hotel's biggest plus is its convenient location: just a short walk to the Redwood City Caltrain station, and a 15 minute drive down to Stanford. We were on the 1st floor in a king-sized room which was large and clean. There was even a fridge and coffeemaker in the room. While the walls are somewhat thin, for the price, you get everything you expect. (But if people are talking out at the pool at night, it can get noisy)I'd suggest booking directly with the hotel instead of through 3rd party sites. Others have seemed to say similar things in their reviews. In our case, our flight was cancelled on the way over, so we had to call and amend our reservation one day. The hotel unfortunately couldn't do it directly, so we had to contact venere.com to do it for us, which was a big hassle. In addition, there was some miscommunication there as well, and we had been charged for the day we missed. Luckily, the hotel owner was nice and reasonable and we were refunded. The hotel is next to Whole Foods, and there's some good eating and shopping options nearby.

clean & hospitable
The rooms are very clean & come with great upgraded TVs & chanels. The pool is relaxing and great to sit at or jump in on a hot day! The location is in a great place when coming to visit the Bay Area. The staff is always friendly and very helpful.

Great Value
Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The area isn't the nicest but it's not that bad either. It's a short walk to downtown Redwood City with lots of dining options. This is not a 4 star hotel with lots of amenities. So if you need a weight room, spa, business center etc. keep looking. It's just a decent place to sleep for a great price in the bay area.

Dirty rude and awful
Not only did the rooms smell and the sheets dirty, the owner had the nerve to approach me open leaving by accusing my husband of smoking in the room when he had only smoked outside. No good morning or how was your stay. Just some rude man. Does he know that this is a place surrounded by hospitals and when people stay in hotels the are visiting and don't need any problems added on. Thanks for making me realize your establishment is the worst I've ever been to and know i know to never return.
