Every time we are in Istanbul we stay in this hotel. This year was 5th time of our visit to Istanbul together. With every time it becomes worse and worse. What about good things... The price is good for such location of the hotel. And of course location itself, just what we need. Staff of hotel are very polite and nice people. But nothing more... First of all they have terrible housekeeping! A lot of carpets but no vacuum, floors are always dirty, dust...is always everywhere.This time i intentionally left our DIRTY and WET towels in the bathtub (cause i don't like to put them on such dirty floor) and put the foot towel (that was on the same DIRTY FLOOR before that) on the top. But after "housekeeping" all the same WET towels was on their previous places like its fresh and new! Then i asked staff to bring new ones which took 2 hours.Another fact happened with us ones but the same story also happened with our friend during our previous visit to this hotel. We made on-line booking there and next day they send us confirmation of our booking and we decided not to check it by calling (that's why people create e-mail). But when we came to hotel they said that they don't have our room cause in their computer program there is no info about our booking. Thanks God there was one available room. We came early morning to Istanbul and wanted to take shower in our once favourite hotel to wake up and go to eat smth but no... When we entered the room we realise that smbd just left this room. Towels on the floor, unmade bed, toilet...you know...omg!!! We called for cleaning. Very polite cleaning lady came in 30 min and made our room "clean" (by changing the sheets, "cleaning" dust, changing towels, and something like washing floors) less than 15 min - bad service but fast:). After that all mood gone and of course we had to skip the shower cause we were in rush. By the way, after all that "cleaning" in the bathroom under the sink closet i found the pack of cigarettes. I suppose its still there:)And the last but not the list is the BAR downstairs the hotel (just in front of it) where a lot of teenagers have loud party with loud bad music under the OPEN ROOF till late late late. And people, even if your room is on the 7th or 8th floor it won't save you from sleepless night. And i would like to give some advice to people who wrap their liquids, shampoos etc into the strange stuff not to spill - KEEP SUCH THINGS(as wrapper) IN HIDDEN PLACES cause "smart" cleaning lady can consider it as garbage and put it there. Dear managers of this (once) lovely hotel this message is also for you as you know. So i put 'poor' rating instead of 'terrible' because i hope, hope that your service quality will be better and there won't be need for 'maybe-we-should-chose-another-hotel-this-time' doubts.Thank you for you attention!

I have stayed in this residence for the 2nd time now. Mainly because the hotel around the corner was fully booked. For a traveller alone there is lots of space. I would estimate the apartment to be around 75 sqm. 2 bedrooms, 1 with single bed and 1 with king. Baby crib available and couch can be used as a double bed. This appartment fits a family of 4-5 easily. Fridge, freezer, double electrical cooker available so you can make your own dinner. Sounds perfect.... Is a bit run down though... Old furniture, stains in the carpet, toilet hanging at a 15 degree angle sideways.... And the price of 139 euro for one night is also on the expensive side especially when you do not need the space. If the owner would make it a non smoking property, put some paint and modern furniture in it it would be a perfect location for a family city trip. Bed is comfy though!Tip for a good appartment: on the higher floors, on the other side of KaffeePi. That place can be noisy in the evening.

Stayed 3 times in 2012. Good sized rooms, nice layout. Excellent bathroom and bedroom although a lack of storage in the bedroom. The kitchen is functional but basic, not good for full means but great for snacks and breakfast. A nice big lounge area and a balcony in some rooms. Aircon works well.Good staff too, always friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for Bagdat Street and the whole Kadikoy area. Jump on a yellow mini-bus and the ferries are only 20 minutes away. Good area, nice restaurants. All in all a pleasant place to stay and more relaxed than a hotel. I'll be back!

Location: perfect of course if you have business to do in Kadikoy, or South of it. Old city can be reached in 20 minutes taxi ride, then you have the fun of the greatest ferry ride. I describe it below.Location on Bagdat Street is perfect of course, a bit in a side alley so noise if you stay on the front fa¿¿ade is no major problem. Reception was very friendly.Rooms are large, and perfectly functional, the apartment is super well equipped with all the kitchen ware, everything is working. TV has good satellite package with BBC Entertainment HD. The airco is in the living room only, not in the sleeping room¿¿¿. But the sleeping room is relatively well insulated and you can open the windows.There is a bar/restaurant at the ground floor, which is manned by seedy porters, dressed in all black¿¿¿ Despite what is said in other reviews, I never noticed the bar to be too noisy, although I guess that the music would be quiet loud in case of celebration.But I made the great mistake to order a ¿¿¿quiet room¿¿¿ on the 9th floor, being afraid of the noise of the bar as described in a previous review. The rooms on the back are very gloomy, there is almost no natural light and the view is on the railway, not the most pleasant and trains every 20 minutes are noisy. The carpet was of utmost ugliness, there is absolutely no design effort to make it pleasant.I requested to move room, they showed to me some street-side rooms which are much better, with a large terrace.Nevertheless, I declined and moved away after 4 nights. The reason is that the furniture is definitively too old. Do not be misled by the photos on their website: they were taken 20 years ago, and since then the furniture has not been replaced. You feel like sleeping in a flea market.They make you pay for the whole stay (mine was for 30 days) upon arrival. My company negotiated a departure, and they asked for a minimum stay of one week¿¿¿ fair enough¿¿¿. They did reimburse me promptly on my credit card. Prices per night are indeed reasonable considering the side and equipment.If only they invested a bit of money in changing furniture and re-painting, and a bit of modern design, this could be a great place. But I decided to move to another place, One Istanbul, just a block away, which I describe in another review.How to get from Bagdat Street to the Old City:1) Flag a collective taxi, called Dolmus, on Bagdat Street, showing ¿¿¿Kadikoy/Begtansi¿¿¿ (something like that¿¿¿ just do not take a Dolmus showing Taksim). Pay 3 Lira per person, say Kadikoy. Stay in the taxi until the terminus, at the ferry piers. It will take around 20 minutes, more on Sunday evening.2) There are 2 ferry piers. The biggest one is located behind a large decrepit building. From there, 2 ferries leave: one to Eminonu which is the old town. The other leaves to Karakoy, which is all fine as well as you are simply on the other side of the Galata bridge, nice to walk across. The other pier has ferries leaving to Kabatas or Besiktas, which may be good if you want to go to Taksim (by other Dolmus) or visiting the Dolmabahce Palace, but not for the city center.3) To pay the ferries, just use your Istanbul Card, but this one is difficult to get from the newsstands in Bagdat. Otherwise, pay 2 TYL in the ¿¿¿jetonmatic¿¿¿ machines, which accept coins, TL 5 or 10 (even 20, but I would not risk it).4) The trips on the ferries are fantastic, the best view on the old town, especially at sunset time.5) To come back from the city centre, beware that the last ferry from Eminonu leaves at around 20:30 pm, but then you can easily take the ferry back from Karakoy. Karakoy has a few seafood restaurants of typical Turkish atmosphere, not cheap but fresh and they prices are clear. Often the ferry will first stop at the train station, then continue 5 minutes to Karakoy, so stay until everyone gets down. Back to Kadikoy, take a taxi (around TL 20) or the same collective taxi you took on the way here, and ask to stop at Suhadiye Hotel (it

Really the Bagdat Avenue is more than we expected. Fantastic place to know the Real New Turkish People ! Good for shopping, Very good Caf¿¿s ! Tipical foods! International clothing brands and location of Marmara Suayide couldn¿¿t be better.For family or group of friends perfect location, spacious rooms for 3 ,4 or 5 persons.
