Just returned from a week stay at this hotel, we paid ¿¿801 flights, all inclusive & transfers for 2 adults and our 4 year-old son, pools were very cold but our son loved the little one and the cold didnt seem to bother him. We couldn't fault the food, at breakfast there was always eggs, bacon, sausage, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, toast, beans cereals, fruit & yoghurts, lunch there was always pasta, chips, salad, fish & meat, rice, bread rolls, cakes ice-cream, dinner pasta chips, salad, fish & meat, 1 night there was pizza, chilli, beef goulash with mash & veg, for a 3 star hotel the food was fine. The room was clean maid service most days except sunday. We were in room 312 Block 13 we had a massive balcony. The hotel is at the top of hill so if you struggle walking this hotel is not for you,The only downside was there wasn't much entertainment ,but we were a bit out of season and with a little one in tow it didn't bother us much. Overall we had a lovely stay but remember this is only a 3* hotel so don't expect 4*!!

This hotel isn't a 3 star by any means... probably more like 2.5 Stars at best. I wasn't impressed with the rooms at all , not even a kettle to make a tea but we were all inclusive so it didn't make much difference..Oh...and you have to PAY for your TV... serious..PAY... The hike up 8 flights of stairs nearly killed me everyday, 3 times a day.Our cleaner was a lovely lady who keep the apartment very clean but compared to some areas she may have been better deployed else where. The beds are like granite..hard as nails and twice as uncomfortable. The food wasn't bad at all and the drinks were better than your average all inclusive. But the jewel in this crown is to be found outside the hotel. The old town is excellent particularly at night ,The beach is fantastic and well worth the 10 minute from the hotel and if you get a chance visit The Victoria Bar... unbelievable cocktails and seriously nice staff (well done Dave and Carlo). If you spent a serious amount of money on the venue then you could have something special....but obviously they wont.

We recently stayed at the Jardim for 5 days after searching for an All Inclusive deal online. We pretty much knew what to expect when we arrived, after reading reviews and seeing pictures of the resort, which didn¿¿¿t discourage us from booking - it was a low-cost holiday afterall. We were right to have kept our expectations low as the resort can really only really be described as being run down and in major need of a complete renovation. The gardens are well maintained but the exterior of the apartment blocks are in severe need of a lick of paint before it will ever look attractive from the outside.Our apartment was a decent size, close to the main reception, restaurant & bar and had a nice sea view from the balcony, but these were really the only positive things to note about it. The room was very tired and dated, all furniture worn, faded and discoloured. Everything seemed clean enough at first, but on closer inspection, certain areas appeared to be quite dirty and there was a strong smell of urine coming from the separate WC for the first couple of days. We just closed the door and it remained unused but the smell did eventually go. Houskeeping serviced the room each day but it was really only the beds that got made. Floors weren¿¿¿t swept and towels were never consistently changed ¿¿¿ sometimes our wet towels were left hanging out on the balcony to dry! Glasses taken from the bar when we wanted to have a drink in the room were left dirty by the sink and never washed or removed from the room.The food started off ok and slowly went downhill. On the first night we were pleasantly surprised by the choice available at dinner ¿¿¿ nice selection, all freshly cooked. Desserts were limited and a bit disappointing, mousse or gateau ¿¿¿ not much of a selection, and this didn¿¿¿t change. Breakfast was always ok, the usual - nice croissants, madeira cake, mini pastries and assorted hot items to make up a cooked breakfast. Lunch was always the previous night¿¿¿s leftovers and the selection at dinner gradually got worse as the week went on. It was edible and we never went hungry but 5 days was long enough! The restaurant, if you can call it that, was very small, and we sometimes struggled to get a seat at busier times ¿¿¿ always go early if you can, you¿¿¿ll get a table to yourself and the food will be warmer! The buffet counter was in a large empty room just off the main dining area which could really be used for setting up more tables.The drinks at the bar were good if you could find someone to serve you - free poured measures and didn¿¿¿t seem to be watered down so no complaints there. There was always a daily cocktail available which was a bonus as the info on our booking confirmation advised that cocktails were not available on an All Inclusive basis. Beer, wine and sangria were always on tap at meal times and bottles of water were available at the bar. They completely ran out of vodka one night, with no apology or reasons offered, which wasn¿¿¿t really acceptable. The bar area itself was also small but not very appealing to sit in anyway ¿¿¿ there was a strange smell coming from the nearby toilets, filtering through into the bar, the tables were dirty and sticky, covered in food remains and the large TV screens were usually showing football. Very loudly. We much preferred to sit outside with our drinks but it was just unfortunate that we could only do this a couple of times throughout our stay as the weather wasn¿¿¿t great. No entertainment whatsoever but no complaints there either as entertainment in these kind of places is never usually up to much! Nothing geared towards kids which was a shame ¿¿¿ there were a few children staying while we were there and they all looked completely bored and uninterested.The poolside area was in a terrible state ¿¿¿ loungers and sunshades dating back to the 70¿¿¿s (much like the apartments), mostly broken with stained and faded mats that you really wouldn¿¿¿t want to sit o

Just got back from Jardim on 30/05/13 so this review is right up todate. The rooms are basic and dated but they are clean. Although they clean the rooms most days, (this does no include Sundays) we had to ask for our towels to be changed halfway through the week as they hadn't bothered to change them. We had a few minor issues with our room but have to say that the staff were quick to respond when issues were raised. Although all inclusive this does not include TV which will cost you a small fee of 1 euro a day and 10 euro deposit. A safe will cost you another 20 euros. If you want towels for the pool area take them with you they are not provided. The kindest thing I can say is that the whole resort is tired, unfortunately some areas are also dirty. Whilst the rooms are clean the pool area was not. Most of the beds around the pool are broken and have definately seen better days. the shades above beds are none existent as they are old and knackered and simply blow in the wind so do not provide any real cover, or cover when you actually don't want it. The biggest disappointment was the pool areas cleanliness which was awful. None of the beds were moved at the end of the day to clean the area, so at times you would stick to the tiles where sticky drinks had been spilt the day before. This was down to poor management and lack of staff the sole cleaner would be wandering round trying to mop around holiday makers until about 11-12 oclock each day. This meant that the area never really got a good clean as beds were occupied so not moved to do a proper job. The pool if freezing, at at least the pool was clean probably because hardly anyone braved it. The pool bar was ok and served local drinks (they were not watered) and they served one cocktail of the day, each day. The bar was not always staffed a lunch times as bar staff had to keep running over to help in canteen. It was evident that they hotel did not have enough staff. The canteen (really can't call it a resturant) was clean enough but the seating area was not cleaned regularly enough i.e chips on floor from the evening meal at breakfast. The meals were nothing to write about very samey with a limted choice on offer. Deserst were pretty much always the same with little variety. Drinks machine constantly ran out of milk and it was often difficult to find staff to get this sorted. Don't expect to eat hot meals because you won't, they simply don't have clue about keeping food warm. Canteen staff are not very attentive and food would often run out and you would have to try and track someone down to get more out, which when the choice is so limited anyway is daft. This said althoiugh the food was basic, limited and luke warm at best, it was edible. I've tried to be as honest and fair as possible about both the good and bad points of this resort so have written this review objectively as opposed to subjectively. With some more staff, better mangement and some thought and work this could be an ok resort but it is definately a work in progress (or not as the case maybe). Would I go back to the Jardim, no, it simply isn't clean enough in the communial areas. I can live with basic and clean but not basic and dirty, but I would go back to Albufeira which is a lovely lively little town. This hotel is more like a two star struggling to try and be a 3 star but it is what it is cheap and baisc.Hope this review helps

I knew before we went that these apartments/studios were going to be basic, but given what we paid for 2 adults and one toddler on a fully inclusive basis, I would not have expected any more.We were very close to the reception and our studio was quite small, but that said it was very clean and tidy and serviceable for our needs, ie cooker worked as did the microwave which was needed to boil up water for my granddaughters bottles and heat her milk. The pool area was very nice and it was made very clear that there was no lifeguard, one negative is that there was not enough sunbeds, but providing you get to the pool early that should not be a problem.The food was qute edible and was freshly cooked and always hot and the hygiene in the restaraunt was very good. I believe that once the new management team have had time get this place up to a higher standard and have completed the refurbishment, the Jardim Apartments will be an even better place to stay.Finally Location wise around a 10 minute walk to the centre of the 'Old Town' and slightly longer coming back, as it is uphill, but the walk will certainly keep you fit. Would I stay there again' yes I would.
