We have stayed there twice now, each for a few days. Three nights in a standard room and then 2 nights in a club suite.Both faced the front of the building, but we encountered no noise.We cannot say there was much difference in the rooms except for the size of the rooms and the cost. The rooms were decorated similar .Both had large very comfortable beds. Both bathrooms well stocked and modern, that contained huge deep baths.[ very good after long haul flights to relax in ]In each room there was an Iron and Ironing board. [ This also was much appreciated to iron our then rumpled clothing. ]Each room also had tea and coffee service provided and was restocked daily . A small Mini bar and fridge completed the room. The hotel was very clean and the cleaning staff were very kind and considerate.The porters and congeige desk were excellent. In particular a wonderfull employee called Edwardo who was very informative and friendly. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome and safe. Most of the Aussies staying at the hotel enjoyed his assistance and advice about activities that Australians love to see and do when in Paris.The drinks at the bar were very over priced,and I did not think much of the decore of the Foya or bar. Breakfast...... was wonderfull and had a great variety.The location of the Hotel was perfect for our needs.

As a special birthday treat for me we booked 4 nights last weekend for a getaway to Paris.I always find choosing a hotel a bit of a gamble but this time the choice came up in spades.. From the warm welcome when checking in to the restaurant staff the service is excellent. We booked a standard room which was in the third floor to the rear, Excellent as it had the morning sun. Slight noise on the Monday due to the Road works but the double glazing meant this was not an issue,Room was clean and of a good standard.Even on two occasions when returning whilst the room had been serviced but the tea and coffee not topped up. A phone call to reception saw this rectified within a few minutes.Would definitly stay there again

Crowne Plaza Place Republique is a little away from the main tourist attractions but not far enough to be inconvenient. For the tourist minded there is a Paris Tour bus stop adjacent to the Place and the Seine and Notre Dame is about a 30 minute walk from the hotel through local areas.The roadway and pavement immediately in front of the hotel was under reconstruction when we were there as part of the reconstruction of the Place itself however this presented little or no real inconvenience or noise at night. A taxi stand is located a short walk from the entrance to the hotel.We were checked in very quickly, the desk had all details prepared and waiting, we received an upgrade as a Platinum member and all details relating to the hotel facilities were clearly explained. Our room was very spacious, well furnished with good bathroom facilities. Housekeeping was efficiently carried out and the room was maintained in very clean condition.The bed and pillows were comfortable and although we directly overlooked the paving works outside this caused us no disturbance either by day or night.WIfi is available free in the bar and lounge area, is very quick and there are many outlets if you need to run on power.A good selection of dishes were available for breakfast both hot and cold with fresh fruit, yoghurts and pastries to complement them. The bar is very relaxing and comfortable at the end of the day and has a reasonable range of snacks and meals available.We found all staff to be very friendly, accommodating and helpful whenever we needed assistance. Both check in and check out were very efficiently completed. The taxi at check out that the hotel had arranged in advance arrived exactly on time.A vey good hotel we would have no hesitation in staying there again.

My husband and I spent 6 nights here in May 2013 for our 5 year anniversary. We were booked here with the travel group Monograms. This was our first trip to Paris.Good Side:When we arrived, there was still mass construction happening in the Plaza, but we already knew that was going to be the case, and weren't bothered one bit. The hotel itself is average in the lobby, but once we got into our room...WOW!! It was gigantic compared to other European rooms we have stayed in. And the floor to ceiling windows with French doors that open, spectacular! Very Parisian, I thought. Maybe it stinks that ours opened to the construction site, but honestly, I wasn't going to let that bother me. It's a big city after all, if it wasn't construction noise, it would be something else. And, once the windows were closed, you couldn't hear a darn thing.I actually loved the separate toilet and shower. Allowed 2 people to handle business at the same time.Loved the water bottles and tea options in the room.The breakfast was included with our stay, and well worth it. Sure, the lack of changing menu got a little tired after 6 days, but not until then. The egg station was great, as well as all the fresh fruit. We left there every morning full as could be.Cleaning was on point, every day, apart from maybe changing out our glassware. But, we only used the glasses for soda we bought down the road, so it really didn't matter. Metro station right out the door, couldn't be easier. And with 4 lines coming right to it, you can get anywhere in the city in 15 minutes or less. So convenient!Many area restaurants and cafes within a block from the hotel. All that we tried were really good. And there is a market about half a block away, with very reasonable prices. We went here a lot during this trip.Also, the Boulangerie around the corner is fabulous! The women there were very polite and they had some of the best baguettes we had on this trip.Bad Side:The area- not the construction, but the bums and crackheads. (excuse my terminology) A number of "forgotten" families had set up housing on 2 of the streets bordering the hotel. While I understand they need somewhere to sleep, the constant peddling got tiresome. And the crackheads that congregate by the Metro at night, made you grab your bag a little tighter. Also, the street dealers, selling knock off headphones right outside the door, sketchy people.The area, honestly, at night was a little more sketchy than you want to encounter on a vacation.Also, it's no where near any of the monuments. True, the Metro got you to those areas fast. But I think you lose a little of the Paris magic being so far away from those things. And it's definitely too far to walk to anything other than the Marais area. (This is coming from 2 busy body early 30 year olds, not some older folks)Overall, I would suggest first time travelers look to stay closer to the center of the city. This area might be just a tad too far out. I would stay here again, IF it were possible to pick this entire wonderful hotel up and move it to another neighborhood. But only if...

I stayed here for 3 nights in May, 2013 with a group of students and professors on a travel study. We booked 14 rooms well in advance - and those rooms were not inexpensive. I spent a few days in Paris (staying at a lovely hotel that provided wifi - see below) at the beginning of our trip and stopped by the Crowne Plaza to store a bag and check on a few logistics. Imagine my dismay when coming up from the Metro, I enter a construction zone. The entire Plaza Republique is under construction. While there is a closer metro exit that I wasn't aware of, I traipsed across plywood and through fencing to get to the hotel. (This is obviously a temporary issue and the plaza will be lovely when it is completed.) Some notes about our stay:Pros: A kind man who worked with the concierge helped me on my first visit, storing a bag for me, showing me some meeting rooms, and answering questions all while being very personable and helpful. Thank you Eguardo!My room faced the courtyard and was very adequate. The lavender sprays for the pillows to aid in sleep were nice. The proximity to the Republique Metro was excellent. Just a few steps outside of the front doors. Cons:Internet - when we made our reservation (for 14 rooms, well in advance) we were told there would be wireless internet in place, but that ended up not being true. There was a WLAN connection in each room, but that was not helpful when multiple students are trying to use it. We (all 27 of us) spent much time in the late evenings in the lobby using the wifi. The rates for internet seem ridiculously high to me. We were able to negotiate a slightly better price, but considering the size of our group and the amount we paid for our rooms, I was not satisfied. Breakfast - After traveling through 4 countries staying at multiple hotels and eating many hotel breakfasts, the breakfast at the Crowne Plaza, while adequate, was unimpressive. The presentation left much to be desired, as did the omelettes. And the coffee was definitely the worst I had on our entire trip.Meeting Room - On my first stop, one of the things I needed to check on is the availability of a meeting room for our group. 3 hours of classroom time was needed. They offered me a meeting room...for 1300 euro for 3 hours. Again, there was no effort to accommodate our group at all, in my opinion. Location - While the metro allows you to travel to the sights of Paris, there really is nothing within walking distance. Paris is a city that you want to experience as you walk through its streets. I did not necessarily feel that this was the safest part of the city to do that, and the museums and other preferred destinations were too far away.Condition - The hotel is a bit worn and tired looking. It's as though they can't decide whether to embrace the charm of an old building or take the time and effort to modernize the entire building. The combination that they have right now is unimpressive. With the exception of working with Eguardo, my stay at the Crowne Plaza was disappointing and I cannot recommend it.
