• Nondiscounted, regular rate: For Hotwire's nondiscounted, regular-rate rentals, you will see rental agency options on the reservation details page, prior to making your reservation. When you reserve a car with this rate, your account will not be charged. Actual rental charges will be billed by the agency when you return the car, and reservations may be canceled at any time without penalty.

Please note that Hotwire Hot Rate bookings are final and cannot be refunded, changed, exchanged, or transferred. Credit Card: Hotwire accepts the following major credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express.

Debit cards: You may pay with a debit card. However, your account will be charged at different times depending on the type of car rental rate.

• For rental cars booked at a Hotwire Hot Rate, your account will be charged for the full rental amount when you complete your booking. Your bank will immediately deduct the total rental amount from your checking account balance.
• When you reserve a car at a nondiscounted, regular rate, your account will not be charged. Actual rental charges will be billed by the agency when you return the car.

However, regardless of the type of rate, the rental agency will require a credit card as a deposit when you pick up the car. (Some rental locations may accept debit/check cards for deposits but may have additional requirements such as requesting proof of a roundtrip transportation itinerary in order to rent the vehicle.) The card must be in the name of the primary driver, and must include sufficient available credit to secure your rental. The amount of available credit necessary varies depending on the car type and rental period. If you opt to purchase additional items (such as insurance) at the rental counter, additional available credit will be required.

If you are using a debit card for a deposit, the car rental agency will place a hold on your deposit amount, and you will not have access to these funds until the car is returned.

Hotwire does not accept prepaid or 'stored value' cards for payment, including those showing a MasterCard or Visa logo.

Unless otherwise indicated, all regular-rate rentals include unlimited mileage.
