A: If you've booked a Hotwire Limited Rate, your reservations cannot be cancelled, refunded, changed, exchanged or transferred. Change fees are not an option. Credit cannot be given for any unused airline tickets. Once you make a booking on our site, your credit card will be charged for the total price shown -- regardless of whether the airline tickets are used. If our travel partners can be absolutely confident that the products they sell through Hotwire will be used in the exact way they were sold, they can offer deeply discounted airline tickets. If you are booking our other fare, you can make changes for a fee plus any applicable fare increase. Your ticket retains its full value for one year from the date of booking. If you want to make a change to your reservation, you must cancel your itinerary before the original travel date-otherwise the airline will invalidate your ticket and it will hold no value for future travel. You must call us to change or cancel your reservation.
If you are concerned about the possibility of emergency situations that would require you to change your plans, you may want to consider purchasing Trip Protection - a low-cost insurance program that provides trip cancellation/interruption coverage. Trip Protection covers unexpected events including medical emergencies, strikes, natural disasters, and bad weather. Trip Protection does not offer coverage for change of plans due to non-emergency situations. You can purchase Trip Protection up until your check-in date.

A: If you arrive at the airport late, go directly to the airline's ticket counter. An airline representative will assist you by allowing you to stand by for a later flight. If you are delayed and have not yet arrived at the airport, call the airline directly for assistance.
If you miss your flight and do not contact the airline, the airline will cancel your remaining itinerary.

A: If you booked a Hotwire Limited Rate, the airlines will not allow standby on alternate flights. If you booked our other fare, you can fly standby for an earlier flight -- just check in early with the airline.

A: In the event of a flight disruption on the day of the flight, immediately see an airline representative for instructions. Each airline has its own policies for handling disruptions. The rescheduling of a Hotwire airline ticket will be handled in the same manner as other non-refundable tickets that carry similar restrictions.
