Q: Are taxes and fees included in the rate?

A: With hotel reservations, the Search Results page will show the base price (i.e., the nightly room rate before taxes and booking fees). On the next page -- before you make any commitment to book -- you will see the total price including all taxes and booking fees.

Please note that each hotel may also have its own charges - for example, parking (which can run $10-25 or more, depending on the city), resort fees, convention fees and energy charges. You will be required to pay any such fees directly to the hotel (usually at check-out time). Once you book a hotel reservation, we recommend that you contact your hotel directly to inquire about any additional charges.

Q: Are there any hidden charges in your rates?

A: No. The hotel rate we show you on the Billing page is the final price, including all taxes and booking fees.

Please note that each hotel may also have its own charges -- for example, parking (which can run $10-25 or more, depending on the city), resort fees, convention fees and energy charges. You will be required to pay any such fees directly to the hotel (usually at check-out time). Once you book a hotel reservation, we recommend that you contact your hotel directly to inquire about any additional charges.

Q: Why has the rate changed since my previous hotel search?

A: Hotel rates change all the time, generally based on availability and demand. Our rooms do move fast, so it's important that you act quickly when you see a rate you like - or risk losing it. Please note that all hotel prices are subject to availability and are not guaranteed until a booking is complete. It is possible for someone else to grab the last room at the quoted price before you finish booking a reservation.

Q: How do I get the sample rates I saw in your newsletter, on the site, etc.?

A: The recently booked hotel rates that we show in our newsletter and on our site are not guaranteed prices. They are examples of rates that other Hotwire customers have booked. The purpose of displaying these rates is to give you an idea of how good our prices can be. (Our Deals & Destinations page shows you where customers are finding the best hotel rates.)

Q: Does Hotwire guarantee the lowest hotel rate?

A: Yes. We've negotiated such incredible hotel Hotwire Limited Rates that we guarantee they're the lowest prices around. Within 48 hours of booking, if you find a lower price for your entire stay for an equivalent room type in the same hotel on the same dates, we'll give you double the difference.

The Double the Difference Low Price Guarantee applies to hotel bookings made on our site on or after January 3, 2002. The lower rate must be available for booking; some sites display rates that are not actually available when you try to book. Q: Is parking included in the rate?

A: If a hotel opts to charge for parking, it is treated just like any other incidental (e.g., room service, phone calls). Therefore, parking is not included in your Hotwire rate. Any parking fees incurred must be paid directly to the hotel, usually at check-out time. Parking can run $10-25 or more, depending on the city.

Once your hotel reservation is booked, we suggest visiting the hotel's own Web site or calling the hotel directly to obtain more detailed parking information. Please note that hotels in urban locations are likely to charge a parking fee, and it may be a significant fee.

Q: What does "all-inclusive" mean?

A: If a Hotwire hotel is described as "all-inclusive," the rate includes meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and beverages (soft drinks, beer, wine, liquor). Please note that the all-inclusive price may not cover all restaurants at the resort. There may also be an additional charge for premium beverage brands.

While each all-inclusive resort's amenities vary, they commonly offer extras such as entertainment, land and water sports, kids' programs and gratuities. For a complete list of services offered by your resort property, please review the hotel description page.

Rates for all-inclusive resorts generally do not include transportation to/from the airport, spa treatments and golfing.
