A: For rental cars booked at a Hotwire Limited Rate, your account will be charged for the full rental amount — including applicable tax recovery charges and fees — when you complete your booking.
If you purchased Rental Car Protection, you will also be charged by Access America for the insurance amount at the time of booking. You will have the option to add additional drivers to your contract at the rental counter for an additional charge.

Actual rental charges will be billed by the agency when you return the car, and reservations may be cancelled at any time without penalty. You may also pay with a debit card; your bank will immediately deduct the booking amount from your checking account balance. Note that there are some restrictions on the use of debit cards, such as daily withdrawal limits and limitations on the number of daily transactions.
Hotwire does not accept prepaid or 'stored value' cards for payment, including those showing a MasterCard or Visa logo.
On the Billing page, you will need to enter the card identification number, a security code found on all credit and debit cards as an additional means of protection against fraud. (This nonembossed ID number is located on either the front or back of the card.)
Hotwire supports Verified by Visa (VbV) and MasterCard® SecureCodeTM, security technologies that authenticate your Visa or MasterCard, ensuring that only the authorized cardholder is placing the order. If the bank that issued your card supports VbV or MasterCard® SecureCodeTM, you will be prompted to enter your password, or to enroll in the program, as you check out. Hotwire Customer Care is unable to assist you with credit card verification questions. Please contact your card issuer if you are having trouble entering your password.

A: Yes. Please note that the card billing address must match the address on record with the credit card company.
On the Car Rental Preferences page, enter the driver's date of birth. Then, on the Billing page, enter the driver's name.

A: To book a car at a Hotwire Limited Rate or to make a
nondiscounted, regular-rate reservation, drivers must be at least 25 years of age. The driver's
age will be verified at the rental counter. Any additional drivers added to the rental contract must be at least 25
years of age with a valid driver's license and a credit card in their name. Please see

A: If you select PayPal as your payment method, you can either create a new PayPal account or log into an existing account. Once Hotwire has received payment, PayPal will send you a receipt via email.

A: You can choose to pay with your PayPal account balance, or you can select another payment method such as instant bank account transfer, eCheck or credit card. Once you select PayPal as your payment method, the PayPal system will walk you through the payment process.
If you do not have a PayPal Account, and do not wish to create one, you will need to enter another method of payment to complete your booking.
