A: For Hotwire Limited Rate rentals, the total cost you see is the total price you'll pay. For rental cars booked at a Hotwire Limited Rate, your account will be charged for the full rental amount — including applicable tax-recovery charges and fees — when you complete your booking. All Hotwire Limited Rates rentals include unlimited mileage.
For nondiscounted, regular-rate rentals, Hotwire calculates estimated charges based on the agency's published rates, taxes and fees. When you reserve a car through Hotwire at a nondiscounted, regular rate, your account will not be charged. Actual rental charges will be billed by the agency when you return the car, and reservations may be canceled at any time without penalty. Unless otherwise indicated, all regular-rate rentals include unlimited mileage.
Please note:You will have the option to purchase additional items or add additional drivers to your contract for an additional charge when you pick up your rental car. You also have the option to purchase Rental Car Protection during checkout, or through Access America, a Hotwire partner.

A: Rental agencies use a 24-hour billing cycle to define a single rental day. For example, if you picked up a car at 11AM on Monday and returned it prior to 11AM on Tuesday, you would be billed for one day. Most car-rental agencies allow a 30-minute grace period.

Hotwire can only guarantee the quoted rate for the prearranged length of your booking or reservation. The car-rental agency rate for additional days may be significantly higher than the Hotwire rate.

A: Hotwire's rates do not include insurance. You have the option to purchase Rental Car Protection during the Hotwire checkout process, or through Access America, a Hotwire partner. Prior to your pick-up date, you may want to check with your personal insurance provider to determine whether or not your auto, homeowners or renter's policy covers rental cars. You may also want to check with your credit card company for possible insurance coverage.

A: Because of the low rates car-rental agencies offer on our site, club rewards, discounts, other promotional programs, frequent-flyer miles or points of any sort offered by the car-rental agency cannot be earned or redeemed on Hotwire Limited Rate bookings.
If you book a nondiscounted, regular-rate rental, you may be able to redeem discounts or earn these sorts of rewards, subject to the rental agency's terms and conditions. Please contact the rental agency at the number listed on your confirmation for complete details, or enquire at the rental counter when you pick up your rental car.

A: Mexico: Driving a rental car from the U.S. into Mexico is not permitted.
Canada: You may drive a rental car from the U.S. into Canada, but there are restrictions. Please check with the
rental agency in advance to obtain approval. As with all Hotwire rentals, cars must be picked up and dropped
off at the same location. Driving a rental car from Canada into the U.S. is not permitted.
