Q: Can I book a flight for someone else using my credit card?

A: Yes. Please note that the credit card billing address must match the address where your credit card company sends your statements. The airline will not request that the traveler show the credit card at time of check-in.

If our airline partner issues paper tickets for your itinerary, they will be sent to the delivery address specified. E-ticket confirmations will be sent to the email address you provide when you register with Hotwire. (When booking for passengers other than yourself, please remember to forward the email confirmation to them. They will need a printout of the itinerary in order to check in at the airport.)

On the Billing page, you need to enter a passenger name for each airline ticket you book. The name cannot be changed after you complete your booking, so please be sure to double-check the information on the Billing Review page. All airline passengers are required to present a valid government-issued photo ID at check-in (e.g., driver's license, passport). International destinations may require travel documents such as a current passport, proof of citizenship, or an entry or transit visa.

For U.S. passport requirements, application forms, where to conveniently apply, and other passport and international travel information, visit the U.S. Department of State's Passport Services at http://www.travel.state.gov.

Q: Why am I being asked for a password to use my credit card?

A: Hotwire supports Verified by Visa (VbV) and MasterCard® SecureCodeTM, which are security technologies that authenticate your Visa or MasterCard and ensure that only the authorized cardholder is placing the order. If you are signed up with VbV or MasterCard® SecureCodeTM , then your password is required by the bank that issued your card. Hotwire does not require you to sign up, but when we request authorization from your bank, they may require you to do so.

Hotwire Customer Care is unable to assist you with credit card verification questions. Please contact your card issuer if you are having trouble entering your password.

Q: If I select PayPal as my payment method, how will I be charged?

A: You can choose to pay with your PayPal account balance, or you can select another payment method such as instant bank account transfer, eCheck or credit card. Once you select PayPal as your payment method, the PayPal system will walk you through the payment process.

If you do not have a PayPal Account, and do not wish to create one, you will need to enter another method of payment to complete your booking.
