fantastic holiday
We spent 5 days in Vancouver and this hotel was so convenient for all the attractions. We visited Chinatown, Granville Island, Grouse Mountain,Stanley Park and the beaches around English Bay.The restaurant was very well presented and the breakfast was filling. The area around was a little daunting at night as there were quite a few tramps in the street. The Sky train to Watertown at Stadium was close, and the Canada line was about 6 minutes walk for the airport.

Two Nights for Business
I stayed here for two nights in early March while in Vancouver for a course. The hotel is one block from a Canada Line SkyTrain station (to and from the airport) -- very convenient. Checking in was efficient. I was given a room immediately, even though I arrived a couple of hours before the usual check-in time. The room was small, but clean and quiet. The wifi speed fluctuated, but I experienced no dropped connections. The only drawback was that the desk chair would not lift high enough for the height of the desk (I'm 185 cm tall). Problem quickly solved by using a pillow as a booster. The Moxie's Restaurant attached to the hotel was acceptable for breakfast. Checking out was efficient. All in all, no complaints.

Great value, good location to walk and explore.
We were upgraded to a double queen corner room which was very spacious and with a great view of the dramatic stadium. The kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Great value. We were able to walk to the great food spots on Robson Street and highly recommend Patron Tacos and Cantina near the library.

Great Stay!
Lovely hotel. They really looked after us. We got a parking ticket in their underground parking but they managed to sort it all out for us, they even upgraded us to an amazing room for Valentines! Great staff! clean and tidy hotel! Will be staying there again!

Never Again.
I had to wait for a half hour to check-in, only to be greeted by rude staff. It was a family trip, so we had booked three rooms. Every single room sucked. My parents were in the room directly under my boyfriend and myself, and we were looking directly at the offices of the CBC building. My brother was in another tower, and was looking directly into someone else's apartment! The layout of the hotel was confusing and it didn't help that clerk at the front told me my room was in one tower and turned out to be in the other one! It took us 20 minutes to find the room. The location of the hotel was good because my boyfriend, father and brother were going to BC Place across the street, so it was a quick walk for them. Another nice thing about the location was that it was close to the harbour, so it was a five minute walk to hopping on a little harbour boat to explore. This was the only good thing about this hotel.The first night was uncomfortable because the ice machine was close by and I could hear whenever it was being used. The chain-lock on the door was broken, and the noise from the street was ridiculous. On the second night, both my parents got locked out of their room because their room cards had been deactivated. About a hour later, we discovered the same thing had happened to us, and we didn't get a single apology for it. My parents didn't get two full-sized towels in the first place, and when they asked the maids, they were told they would get towels when the cleaned the room next... needless to say that they never got their towels. My parents also left the hotel with some mysterious bites. We all went home and washed everything we had brought with us.This hotel sucks. The staff is rude, the building is confusing, the rooms need some serious updating, and they need to bring down the price for such crummy views. I can't believe we paid over $100 for my brother to look into someone else's apartment! We are never going back, and we make sure to tell everyone we know who is going to Vancouver to stay away from the Sandman Hotel.
