DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!!!
*When we checked in were told that there was a car park for us as we had payed for one,however there was no car park availablie.I felt we should have been told before we negoatated the samll car park.Then they said they would valet park the car for us,I was worried about my car all night that I was parked on the street as I didn't know where it had been parked.* When we got to our room there were people in the bed!!!!!!! So they put us in a room they said it was that was at the same standerd as the one we booked for.The room we had then been given which was on the 1st floor looked smaller than the one we had walked into on the 5th floor.I couldn't sleep the whole time because I was worried that somebody was going to walk into our room like we had walked into somebodys room earier*The rooms were really small/tiny/dirty/bad lighting.*When we checked out we had been waiting 40 minutes for the valet to bring our car, so we thought we would ask if every thing was ok,they said they didn't know.Then a lady asked if it was a Volkswagen( which it is). Ifelt I should have been asked what modal car it was,anyboby could have said yes and they would have given my car to them.I will never stay or recommend in this hotel "olsen" again and I'm not usually upset easly by things,But I was upset after telling my friends and family about this experience that should have been a" fabulous" in a 5 star hotel,I felt really dissapointed ripped off. I rate the olson a big fat 0!!!

Beautiful and worth the $
Hubby and I decided to have a mid week mini break @ the Olsen. We had a Deluxe Studio Suite which had the most amazing view of South Yarra. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and it was lovely waking up to the sun coming up.The blue shimmering swimming pool which perches above Chapel Street was luxurious and relaxing. Felt so refreshed after using it. It was lovely and warm and was interesting to be able to swim in it with the night air (as it is outdoors)I really liked the amenities. I decided to take the small canvas and paints with me from the merchandise available to purchase. I adored the whole experience.The only gripe I had was with the bath- I could not figure out how to change it from shower settings to bath. But I think that was me being an idiot and not the bath! Apart from that, no complaints.Bravo Olsen! Will be back- some day.

First Time Staying out of the CBD
This was the first time we have stayed out of the city but the Olsen was a great hotel. It was only a short walk to the train station and a short train ride into the city.The hotel facilities were really clean and nice. The rooms were really nicely furnished and the beds and pillows were divine! The pool was also lovely.Really nice hotel when you want to be out of the CBD.

Stylish rooms, great location, friendly staff... highly recommended
While my husband and I usually stay in the city on trips to Melbourne, we thought it would be good to try a different area. The Olsen is well located, only a few kilometres out from the CBD and near a train station and on the tram line. It's in a vibrant area with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. We were given a great room on the 10th floor and looking straight down Chapel Street so the view from the floor to ceiling windows was excellent. Staff was super-friendly and helpful at all times - a real stand-out. D¿¿cor was very stylish and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept on. There's a great pool and deck although we didn't use them. I was very happy with our stay, although if we had a room on a lower floor and / or looking in the other direction, it would not have been so special. We booked a Deluxe Studio Suite and we are thankful we got such a well-located and lovely room (1002).

Second stay and still fabulous and funky
Loved the Olsen last year when I stayed for the night adn came back for a one night getaway to Melbourne again last Friday night. I just love it - such a top spot to access Chapel Street and Toorak Road. You're literally right there to hit the shops and the cafes. I was mainly there to see the Monet exhibition at the NGV and couldn't have been easier - walk round to South Yarra train station (5 mins) then two stops to Flinders and you can walk across the bridge to the gallery. So easy. So Olsen just tops for location.As last time when I saw all the trendy young people milling around and the guys with the box of grog in the lift with me I thought uh oh its going to be noisy. But couldn't have been more wrong - whisper quiet all night and slept like a baby in my funky little room. Its not expensively/lavishly done out its just a bit quirky compared to your average uniform hotel room in this price bracket. Also this time I had a swim in the outdoor pool. Had it all to myself at 9am on Saturday morning - heated and clean. Not very long but good enough and typical Olsen so funky as you can see the street below you and the people coming and going.Got to give average mark on cleanliness as some rubbish not been picked up round the other side of the bed so you could tell the cleaner had not got around there and there were those little drain flies in teh bathroom so could have done wiht a squish of bleach or something down the drain.But won't let minor detail put me off this little gem
