Over night stay at the races Lingfield park. Room over looking the race course great start to the day. We had a tour of the race course which i must say was very good,Its not just a history of the race course they show you the day to dayrunning and the build up to a meeting If your a novice at horse racing would recommend the tour.User friendly track every thing you want close at hand and when you have lost all your money,the hotel is next door So you can drink/eat to forget your rubbish bets LOL.With the race course is the hotel and spa (Marriott) golf course so there is lots to fill your day.Must not forget the reception staff for looking after wife"s electric ciggie thank you for a great night and day

I really enjoyed this hotel
My review is late in coming. I stayed here for one night in December of 2012 and this was my first trip to England and I flew out the next day. I have no complaints to make on this hotel, the room was clean and it served its purpose. I am from North America and I noticed that the room I had was smaller than the typical North American hotel and the bathroom was smaller than I was used to and I had to ring the front desk to figure out to use the shower handles. No big deal as it was new to me. I loved the location of the hotel, it is by a race track and the open fields and to me this was a great environment. The best part of my stay was the breakfast buffet. I had heard stories about the English Breakfast and some of them were not so kind. Throw those stories out the window if you stay at this hotel. First off the host to breakfast assisted you in your seating and greeted you like you were Royalty and best of all he was a double for Michael Caine in appearance and mannerisms. The coffee was perfect, the bangers ( sausages) were perfectly cooked and there was such an abundance of high quality items from rolls to breads to eggs etc etc it was such a pleasure to just sit down, look over the fields and have a great way to start the day. I highly recommend this hotel

Better Than Average
Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights on business. The hotel is better than average but not quite very good. Room was spacious and clean so no issues there. Car parking is just a little away from hotel entrance but not a problem. Most staff were friendly. Only ate in the hotel restaurant on one evening as I found the menu very limiting, however, bar menu was better. Bar service was a bit slow at times which was frustrating. Breakfasts were fine with plenty of choice. Reception staff very effiicent with no issues on check in/out. Would stay again if in the area.

Good food, good staff, lovely rooms
Myself and 5 friends booked two rooms and one suite for a girls weekend away. Check-in was quick, efficient and friendly. The rooms were all of the a very good standard and the suite had a lovely seated area. The exec rooms had a lovely walk in shower (no bath) and the suite a shower over a bath. The evening meal was part of our package. There was a choice of several starters, main courses and deserts. Something to suit everyone. Staff were attentive. Food was of a good standard, everyone enjoyed all courses with the exception of the creme brulee. Room temperature was a little too hot in all the rooms overnight and it was very windy so there wasn't really an option to open a window without being blown away! Breakfast was good, the usual self service selection of hot or cold and as it was busy was regularly topped up. The only down side was that staff were unsure which flasks were tea and which were coffee so kept opening them to sniff! As well as not looking very nice this also impacted on the temperature. Tea was very weak. Overall an excellent stay, we didn't have time to use the gym or spa facilities. I would return to the hotel.

Pretty decent hotel
Booked for a reunion event on a Saturday night. Several of my party couldn't check in due to rooms not being available at 5pm which I thought was pretty poor. However, I was able to check in straight away albeit they allocated me an "adapted" room. They didn't tell me at check in but on going to the room I wasn't bothered until I discovered that the shower was suitable for people up to about 5'5" and no taller unless you wanted to crouch to have a shower! I pointed this out to reception who found me another room and brought the new key up. I couldn't fault the guy on his helpfulness and speed of resolving the issue.The bar area was very busy and had a good atmosphere. The restaurant food was reasonable but nothing special.Overall the room was a good size, clean and well furnished, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom perfectly fine. I slept very well and was comfortable.Breakfast the following morning was pretty good although a bit of a struggle to flag down waiting staff for tea or coffee.
