A Hotel Worth To Stay In
On a recent trip to Baguio with a couple of friends, we were billeted at the Burnhan Suites Hotel. The reviews on the hotel were mixed-some praised the hotel while there are others who mentioned that the hotel is not as good as advertised. So, when I learned that we were gonna stay at the Burnham Suites, I lowered down my expectations to avoid any feelings of disappointment later. Here are my observations:Pros:1. Location: (a) Proximity to Burnham Park. If you are the type who enjoys long morning walks, staying in Burnham Suites can give you the chance to take a long morning stroll in Burnham Park. As you stroll, you will see plenty of good sights. You will also get to have an insight on how the people in Baguio communes every morning for a group exercise. (b) Session Road Escapade. The famed restaurants in Baguio are believed to be situated along Session Road which is a reasonable walk from Burnham Suites. Hence, if you stay at Burnham Suites, dining should not be a problem. 2. Generally Clean. We were booked in one of the deluxe rooms located in the 3rd floor of the hotel. I was surprised that the interior of the room was clean. The linens were fresh and the bathroom was also clean with a fully functional hot and cold shower.3. Accommodating Hotel Staff. For a hotel guest, it always feels good to be treated the way you should be treated by the members of the hotel staff. They were all polite and courteous.4. Efficient Check-in/Check-out. Another good aspect to this hotel is the speed by which they are able to check-in or check-out their guests. Based on our experience, it only took the hotel staff about 3-5 minutes to complete the check-in/check-out procedure.Con:1. Limited choice for breakfast. Unlike the other hotels in Baguio which offer breakfast buffet, Burnham Suites does not offer any buffet. There is a pre-set breakfast meal that you have to choose such as beef tapa, corned beef and the like. The serving is also very limited.

Average hotel, not priced competitively enough for the current market
This hotel would be ideal for those needing to be within walking distance of the city center--i.e. city market, Burnham Park, etc. We were billeted here by festival organizers and I suppose for the corporate rates and the relatively cheap use of the function rooms, this hotel would make sense for a big group. The rooms were just about only fair in all respects-- cleanliness, size, amenities and service. The executive suite we occupied was big enough with 2 bathrooms but it was facing the back of the property where the eye-level view is of the unattractive backdoor path to Legarda Road and some neighboring residences. Because of this, we felt uneasy about opening the two small windows because frankly, it would create a security concern as outside access would be all too convenient. As a result, we needed to use the airconditioning when we would otherwise prefer the natural chilly air of Baguio when staying at other properties. The same backdoor is also located on our floor (4th floor) and is unmanned day and night, giving the uneasy feeling that anyone could just walk in and out of the fourth level without passing through the lobby/security. Other than this, everything was just fair including the very limited and unsatisfying plated breakfast. The sad exception to fair was the brewed coffee which was quite terrible, tasting like the grounds were being reused several times. The staff are helpful enough but the front desk is undermanned with only one or two receptionists who do check-in, concierge and other duties. Upon checkout, I inspected the bill (to be shouldered by the organizers who hosted us) and was surprised to see the rate they were paying. It wasn't cheap at all as I had expected considering that the usual places we stay in offer so much more in terms of facilities and amenities including generous buffet breakfasts etc. And since even the top properties in Baguio are often on sale during the lean season, I would definitely recommend considering the many other options. I hope this hotel would either improve on their amenities or price themselves even more competitively.

Overall, a good stay
We stayed overnight at their Deluxe Queen accommodation on the 3rd floor. The room was clean, and had a work desk and a mini-bar. The closet had a safe that can fit an iPad and some small items. There were towels and complimentary bath amenities in the bathroom. Cable signal was busted when we arrived (front desk said it was the service provider's problem), but was fixed a few hours after. Internet access was okay, though you have to ask the front desk for the password (they have different passwords for each floors and the lobby). The room isn't very soundproof; I woke up to a pre-recorded prayer of the Angelus (I'm not sure if it came from the lobby of from Burnham Park). But I didn't mind, though. I expected that some noise would be heard from outside, especially if the room's fronting busy Kisad Road and Burnham Park.Selections on the buffet breakfast was okay: choice of tea or brewed coffee, rice, French toast, pasta, corned beef, hotdogs, scrambled eggs, and slices of watermelon and pineapple. Only comment is that the food was already bordering cold when we ate, and we had breakfast at 7:30 AM.Staff was accommodating, the guards were nice enough to assist us in getting a taxi when we needed it. If basing from the previous reviews, I think they've improved a lot. Breakfast is the only thing they have to improve on, IMHO. Overall, in terms of accessibility and quality of service, Baguio Burnham Suites met my expectations.

Location is good but accommodation of private unit is worst.
This hotel is a disguise. Some units here are private that are being offered for rent. Have no idea about their guest room and every services they offer but think hundred times if you are offered of their private units. We stayed at room 516 just this dec 2012 for 6000k/night, the unit has only 1 bedroom with old beddings, smells like dogs have slept on it. Pillows are terrible. The bathroom has small cheap mirror situated below your eyesight, the cabinets are just covered with tarps, the water in the bathroom floor is stagnant, hot water is not consistently working, the paint in the walls are coming off, internet is bad, remote of tv was busted, the floor is not clean, the closets were just rushly made or repaired, no paint. In short, worst ever accommodation, if not for the location your 6k per night is not worth it. In fact, it was obviously over priced. Worst is, since you are not a guest of the hotel, the hotel personnel will not acknowledge your presence especially the guards, can you imagine? The guard we ran into was impolite, bastos and mayabang. According to him, we are off limits. I don't know if it's the hotel's policy. Basically, if not for the cold weather, baguio is not a good place to visit. Based on observation, the city has not improved at all, traffic system has gone worst, the roads are still not repaired, the people has changed, more became dishonest and uncourteous, the city does not smell pine trees anymore just like the good old days. Just frustrating.
