Good for Business
I stayed here for 5 days in March as it was close to a conference i was attending. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bathroom was sizeable and there was a good power shower. Breakfast was reasonable for the price but the coffee was terrible. The hotel is in an interesting location, it is close to the subway which is a benefit and it is easy to navigate your way to the down town sights and sounds of Shanghai. However on first glance you can't help but feel like you are in the ghetto. At first i though this would be a problem but after a day or two i realised this was really good compared to the yuppy living my colluegues were experiencing at the nearly Marriot hotel and Ramada. The area around the hotel felt like real China compared to the built for foreigners area closer to the conference/ Ramada hotel. Walking distance from the hotel is a good selection of restaurants and cheap beer. If i was returning to the same area again I would probably stay in the Holiday Inn again.

Very good for a relaxed stay
I was attending a fair in Pudong with my colleagues. The rooms were excellent. Breakfast was nice. Staffs were friendly and efficient. We checked into late night when there was only one youngman was in reception. He knew almost no English, but was smart enough to make a quick check in process and communicated with his english translation apps over smartphone. My complaint is for the poor WiFi in the room. They said WiFi is available in the room but none of my two devices could do anything in the room. Another small suggestion, they can consider to put a telephone in the bathroom. It will add more convenience.

Budget-friendly, well-located hotel in Shanghai
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Jinqiao Central for two nights and found it to be a budget-friendly and well-located hotel. See a list of pros and cons below.PROS:1. LOCATION (RE: DISTANCE TO METRO STATION): The hotel is located within walking distance from Jinqiao Station (on Line 6) of the Shanghai Metro. It is important to note, however, that the walk from Jinqiao Station can be substantial -- it took me, with luggage, approximately 15 minutes (Shanghai is, after all, a huge city). If you have a lot of luggage, the walk might be slightly inconvenient. Otherwise, getting to the hotel from Pudong International Airport is quite easy. I took the Maglev train from Pudong International Airport to Longyang Road Station on the Maglev train line, which connects to the Longyang Road Metro Station. I then took Line 2 from the Longyang Road Metro Station to Century Avenue Station, where I transferred to Line 6 to head to Jinqiao Station. Note that Line 6 is very crowded (especially the Century Avenue Station interchange), and if you have a lot of luggage, it might be a bit inconvenient. Still, all in all, I appreciated the fact that the hotel was within walking station from a metro station.2. LOCATION (RE: PROXIMITY TO RESTAURANTS/SHOPS): While the immediate area surrounding the hotel is primarily residential (and therefore there is not much to do), there is a very large shopping mall area next to Jinqiao Metro Station called "LifeHub @ JinQiao." This mall complex has numerous restaurants, shops, and also a very large supermarket as well. You can also find many fast food chains represented there, including McDonald's, Burger King, and Dairy Queen. Also, there are some convenience stores located right near the hotel, including a FamilyMart convenience store (which I believe is open 24 hours) right next to the hotel, so you can grab a quick snack, meal, and/or beverage without having to walk to LifeHub @ JinQiao.3. ROOM LAYOUT AND SIZE: The room was quite spacious and comfortable. An in-room safe was provided, as well as slippers. The bathroom and shower area were also quite large. One thing I appreciated in the bathroom was the liquid hand soap dispenser they had next to the sink - it was very convenient for washing hands. Packaged toiletries are provided in the bathroom, including toothbrushes and toothpaste, a comb, and the like. A dispenser with a shampoo+shower gel combination is provided in the shower. Quick tip -- the toilet paper rolls were quite thin (i.e., not many sheets in a roll), so consider calling reception to deliver more rolls up to you so you don't run out. Two bottles of bottled water were provided daily, and there was also an in-room electric jug for boiling water.4. INTERNET PROVIDED: Free wireless and wired internet was provided, which was much appreciated. I used the wired connection first, thinking it would be faster than the wireless connection, but at least in my room, it didn't really make a difference. The wireless connection was good enough (at least in my room) for video chats (albeit a bit choppy, but still good enough) on Skype. 5. BREAKFAST PROVIDED: Some reviews have commented on the poor offerings at breakfast, but I found the breakfast buffet to be quite generous and ample - and, bottom line, for the budget-friendly cost of the room, it was a good value to have breakfast provided at all. Chinese selections comprise the majority of the breakfast buffet's offerings (e.g., congee, stir-fried noodles, and such), but Western selections were also offered (e.g., eggs - if memory serves me correctly, they were hard-boiled, sausages, toast, cereal, yogurt, and such). The food tasted fine. I should point out, however, that it would have been better if the hot foods were served at a hotter temperature. For example, I had what appeared to be hot soymilk, but it was rather lukewarm. 6. HEAT: If you are traveling to the hotel during winter, note that the hotel is warm and your room com

Good for business
The room is nice, big and comfortable. Breakfast is good, mostly with Chinese food, which I liked. Service people were helpful and could speak English. I have to say I had a big problem with the airport transfer, which I booked for my arrival, but didn't came. At the end I took a taxi, which was fast and not very expensive. In the room I could hear some noise from the street, altough it was at the 12th floor, so it's better to bring earplugs. The surroundings are not touristically interesting, but they are safe and the metro is at 5-10 minutes walking distance. The hotel restaurant is acceptable but not the best, and has poor choice, Near the metro there's a big shopping mall with some restaurants.

Great value/price hotel in SH!
I had the chance to stay at the Holiday Inn Express hotels in other chinese cities, as in China is not so easy to find western hotels at reasonable prices, but this hotel chain definitely gives you this benefit! There are many H. Inn Express hotels in SH, but this one has the best location for your stay in Shanghai, regardless you are in Sh for business or vacation. You can easily get to the hotel directly from yourself by metro from both the two airports in Shanghai, as it is located just 5 minutes walking from the Jinqiao subway station (line 6): outside the metro station, you just have to walk on Jinqiao Road and you will easily see the main sign at the top of the hotel. The hotel is located in Pudong business new area (east side of Huang pu river), but you can enjoy your stay in Shanghai as throught the line 6 you can reach all the best part of the city at reasonable prices. The hotel area is safe, quite but there nothing to do right there, as it is impersonale and just business oriented. The hotel is modern, confortable and eith a great value/price. Rooms are large, modern efficient and quite; great bathroom (amenities are provided) and Int'l tv. You can have also internet connection throught out the hotel, self service laundry, Int'l DDA calls. The only drawback I had is the breakfast buffett, not very large and with very few continental dishes (bacon and eggs were not provided..); I would recommend you to have breakfast directly in the city, as there plenty of starbuks shops all over the city!!!!
