Tucked away in the hills for peace and quiet
Cosy with only 7 villas, we got attentive staff; sometimes they were a little stretched but never failed to followup.Really appreciated they didn't push any tours but were happy to help us call and arrange.Breakfast is a PLUS. watch out for those freshly made donuts/waffles!

Wonderful Seclusion, Extremely Attentive Staff
We stayed in Villa Sarna over Spring Break from the 29 March to 1 April and had an AMAZING time. It was exactly what we were looking for. As other reviews will have written, the place is not in the center of Ubud, but that is actually quite refreshing, because I found the center of Ubud to be quite congested. The shuttle service the hotel provides is everything you need to move around and many spas will also do pick-up service. Plus, you can hire a driver directly at the hotel, so you are in no way cut off. We hired a driver for a day who took us everywhere we wanted to go, and we also did the bike tour that the hotel arranges, with Cadek, who was very friendly and relaxed.It was great to spend some peaceful mornings and evenings by the pool side, on the patio of the hotel rooms themselves and in the common areas, all of which are comfortable and tranquil. The breakfasts we had were nothing short of AMAZING and PLENTIFUL and the restaurant near to the hotel was absolutely delicious, with great presentation of the food. The staff at the restaurant even drove us back to the hotel (just 2 minutes away).Sahiba was the one who we had contact with to arrange the reservation. She was so accommodating and friendly, even over email! If I go to Bali, I would definitely stay at Villa Sarna and will be recommending it to anyone who is thinking of staying near Ubud. If only it were always so easy to find these hidden gems when one travels!

Nice stay, but wish it was closer to Ubud
Spent 3 nights here. The place was nice and the staff friendly, but in general we wish it was closer to Ubud. They offered a free shuttle to and from town, but we felt constrained by trying to schedule our days around when the shuttle would be coming. It took at least a half hour to get from the hotel to town by shuttle. We enjoyed the half day biking trip that the hotel organised. Easy biking almost all downhill and a great chance to see the surrounding area. Banana pancakes with the included breakfast were a highpoint as well.

Hidden Gemstone in quite Valley but very close central to all amenities & eateries.
Very Warm Hospitable stay. Exclusive private Breakfast with views. Stayed in room Ganesha. Was pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful was the room with huge washroom. Had no problems getting shuttle from the Villa into Ubud. Hardly 5 min's. we had our two boys 7 & 9, they immensely enjoyed the pool & privacy of the place. Highly recommended. Amazing Staff. Had oppurtunity to personally meet Mr. S. Sarna, which made the visit memorable.

Perfect place to stay
My wife and I spent last 3 days in this villa. The villa is on the hill, 30 mins drive to Ubud centre, the free bus from the villa made everything so easy. The whole experience was fantastic. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the pool a bit small, but we still mark it 5 stars.
