A good place for the family to relax
My family just spent a night at the resort yesterday on the way to Albany. It was certainly an interesting experience for us to stay in a log cabin with our own furnace. It was fun to start a fire and keep t going throughout the night. Certainly need it as it was quite cold at night. Didn't have much opportunity to try out the other amenities in the resort due to the weather but the cabin was comfortable and cosy.

Forest Getaway
We just returned home from 4 days at KVR. Reading the previous reviews I was a bit disappointed to read that others had a 'mixed' review about the place. I decided to go with an open mind. I found it to exactly resemble a US summer camp but for W.A. it is unique. Is a summer camp a bad thing ??? I didn't think so. The 3 bedroom chalet had everything we needed for a family of 2 adults and 2 young children. Even the fireguard I requested was installed when we arrived. First bonus points achieved !! There was an abundance of firewood to keep us warm, plenty of blankets and a truly wonderful ambience from the surrounding forest. It's quiet, relaxing and there are so many things to do we should have stayed longer !! My only advice to the service would be that you really need to re-think the non-delivery of room service meals. Somebody HAS TO be allocated to deliver these meals. As a paying guest at the rate you are charging, this service is invaluable. The reason you order room service is so you don't leave your room. If I knew we had to go pick it up we would have come to the restaurant for dinner but with small children that is not always convenient, hence the need for room service. Understand ???? Apart from that it is a beautiful place. Especially in the cooler months. Enchanting.

Awesome weekend stay
Great place, plenty of activities for kids and for adults, looking forward to go there again. The Chalets were wonderful, nice and clean in the middle of the forest with that beautiful lake in one side. Loved archery session with Nick, we all had a good laugh.

Great few days at Karri Valley, extended our stay an extra night!
8 of us stayed at Karri Valley for 3 nights in April 2013 and had a really great time. Pemberton is about 20 minutes away by car and has a decent sized grocery store etc. we stocked up with food and drinks when we arrived and didn¿¿¿t need to go back.I'll start with the positives; It is set in a beautiful location with a big lake and great walks and cycle routes heading up to the falls. There are loads of activities for whilst you¿¿¿re there, we spent a lot of time out on the lake in canoes and boats, played tennis, went cycling around the resort, on walks, played mini golf and spent an hour doing archery. For the young kids you can go and feed the animals, a pony, miniature horse, alpaca, calf and a cow. There are also two joey¿¿¿s that are cared for by the staff that can be fed/played with by young children, it¿¿¿s $10 per day for access to all the activities which is really good value for what there is to do.It¿¿¿s pretty good value for accommodation as well, we paid $260 for a night for 8 people. The accommodation was spacious with a good view, nice balcony and a log fire.Loads of wildlife, kangaroos, kookaburras, emus and parrots around. And just a few negatives;Activities do close quite early in the day and there isn¿¿¿t a great deal to do at night, however we went to get Mini Golf clubs just before they closed and they said not to worry about it and to just to return them in the morning.Chalet 5 had a big burn mark on the wooden railing/fence on the balcony which I presume is why there are no BBQ¿¿¿s at the chalet¿¿¿s anymore, I understand that if it¿¿¿s too big a risk then that¿¿¿s fine but in place of that you need a conventional oven in the chalet¿¿¿s. There are communal BBQ¿¿¿s near the lake but as you would expect they weren¿¿¿t clean whatsoever. There isn¿¿¿t really a bar area, there is a restaurant but we didn¿¿¿t eat in there mainly because of the prices and poor reviews we read but it would have been nice to go and get a drink in there. No washing machine in chalet but there is a dryer, a bit annoying having to go to the laundry and walk up the hill with all the clothes. No air conditioning in the chalet¿¿¿s which was fine in April but I¿¿¿d say it would get pretty hot in February.Accommodation is older and a bit tired but we didn¿¿¿t spend much time in there anyway.Final few things of note; There is no phone signal in the area, nor is there WiFi, neither of those things bother me but just thought it would be worth mentioning, one final thing to mention would be to mind out for kangaroo¿¿¿s at night, we drove at below the speed limits but still nearly hit a kangaroo.

Excellent Experience
My partner and I spent two nights in a lakeside room and had a fantastic experience. The facility has a number of activities which is great for kids and adults alike. We were alone and opted to take a canoe onto the lake and explore the shoreline. Due to teh incliment weather we didnt do the walk trail which looked interesting. Overall a fantastic time spent.
