Great atmosphere. Great service. Not so great restaurant food.
Had a great time there. Great atmosphere. Great friendly service. Rooms were great. The Hunter Valley Gardens and Village were great. We spent 3.5hrs walking around the gardens. Then had a relaxing spa when we went back to the hotel. Our only let down was the restaurant food not coming out hot.

MERCURE HUNTER VALLEY RESORT
The hotel was ideally situated, the room was very comfortable, the service from the staff was very good, the meals at dinner were extremely good.Negative comments; The hot breakfast meals were only warm. The areas around the hotel at night should have better lighting.

Great location. Disappointed not knowing about Le Club Accorhotels card on arrival
We stayed 2 nights in this resort and were very happy with the location. We ran into some issue with the car rental in downtown of Sydney and called up the Mercure resort for help. The reception gave us very clear and detailed instruction on alternative transports. She even list down all the options which I am grateful for. We finally made it via rail and cab despite not having a car. The resort is centrally located and its within walking distance to a few good winery and the garden. The only downside of the stay was not being informed of the Le Club Accorhotels programme. I only knew that its a free membership after returning home and did the survey. We did not manage to clock any points and futhermore we paid for the full price at the steakhouse instead of a 50% with the card. Its a bitter after taste. Nonetheless the stay at the resort is great and the room and bed are great too!

Suggestion
My husband and I stayed here Tuesday 30th April 2013 for his 40th Birthday.I did make other suggestions and forgot one. My husband had Pork Ribs for dinner, and said they were the Best Ribs he has Ever had. and that is coming from a very very very big and Fussy Meat Eater. The only thing I would suggest since Ribs are a messy dish and meant to be eaten and enjoyed with your fingers. A warm moist Flannel ( Face Washer) to freshen and clean up afterwards would have made the experience Fantastic. Dry Napkins still leave Hands and Face Sticky. So then had to visit the bathroom to clean up.Thank you so much for replying to my other suggestions so promptly. Great location
Stayed here for two nights on our way down to Sydney from Brisbane. Rooms were lovely, we had a cute little patio that got the early morning sun. Bliss. Bed was comfortable and room spotless.Pool was great....not many using it. Water is freezing but lovely and quiet.Free wifi in the bar area which was fab.Breakfast was good...buffet style so not much to complain about. However we were severely disappointed with the dinner we had in the restaurant. Firstly the service was slow. We ordered bread and olives to share but these never materialised. Before we knew it our mains were being served. Obviously we cancelled the bread. Then whilst eating my salmon main I found a large piece of plastic in my salad. It wasn't cheap so you'd expect better.Hotel is right next door to an array of shops and restaurants. The hotel put us on a wine tour they use all the time and it was great. We really enjoyed it. Great hotel - I'd defo recommend. Just maybe eat your evening meal somewhere else!
