Amazing staff and a relaxing hotel
We had to book into a hotel after our cycle trip as the trip to Sandakan was cancelled. We booked this last minute and fluked a really great hotel. When checking we were asked if we wanted to upgrade to the Executive lavel which we accepted. It was a great deal and we were really pleased we did. I have stayed in other cities in these types of rooms at hotels but nowhere have I experienced the level of service the girls provided. By the time we left we knew there names and they knew ours, their attention to details was amazing, Asma, you are a standout when it comes to customer service and we wish you every success. My tip for this hotel would be to upgrade and experience the quality of service the girls provide. The rooms are really nice but the service is what wins you over.

Good, not great
This restaurant could not have a better location if you want to be in the city and have easy access to restaurants, markets etc. The rooms are very big and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. That said, this hotel is starting to show it's age and we did find a minor infestation of ants in our room on the last day. I'm not sure there's a nicer place in the city, but if you can afford it it's probably worth stepping up to one of the newer resort-style hotels in Sutera Harbor or outside of twon.

Convenient location, nice view and friendly staff
We stayed here on the first night of our Sabah trip to explore the KK city. The location is perfect as it is just next to a large shopping mall as well as the waterfront. It is also right opposite the markets. We also loved the view from our room where we could see the sunset over the waterfront. The minor complaints include the funny (sea water?) smell in the bathroom and the TV noise from the connecting room. The room service was a bit slow but the friendly staff made up for it. Overall it is a good place to stay while you are in KK town.

Easy12 Day Stay
I have recently spent 12 days on business in KK and chose to stay in this hotel. It has a fabulous location looking on the see and the islands in the distance. Check in was a breeze and pleasantly handled in a lobby which has a pleasant scented air. I chose to upgrade myself to a club room which gives executive lounge privileges. This is very worthwhile as the canapes and drinks at cocktail time are splendid and you have fabulous views of the sunset.and the breakfast in the same lounge is peaceful and far away from the "zoo" downstairs. The staff in the Ex Lounge are all wonderfully trained and polite and carry themselves well and are professionally attentive without any air of sycophancy! In fact it was my experience during the whole stay that the staff throughout the hotel were very capable. I myself had an issue with the Circle Resturant but this issue was handled internally and I consider the matter closed. The swimming pool is a little small for the size of the hotel and the area seems a little untidy and lacking in cosiness or atmosphere. However the rooms are very large, as are the bathrooms and although the hotel itself and dreary corridors to the guestrooms are beginning to show their antiquity, the staff make up for the age of the building.

Friendly staff & Great Location
Have just spent two days (May 2013) in this Hotel in the centre of busy Kota Kinabalu.Two very big positives are the very friendly, genuinely helpful staff, and the great central city location - great for short walks to the markets, shops and many restaurants.The room was well appointed, clean and comfortable.They went out of their way to attend to requests we had - like a 0500hrs breakfast before leaving for Mt Kinabalu.Obviously, with a location like this (across the road from the markets) there is some traffic and other noise, but this is part of the whole experience. Close the doors / curtains and the noise is gone.Sit out by the pool, have a cocktail and watch the hustle and bustle of the markets as they spring to life in the the late afternoon.The Hotel is starting to show its' age a little in places - the slightly damp smell in the foyers on the upper floors was no big deal. But in many other ways the Hotel is still lovely, clean and functioning perfectly.Altogether - a great place to stay if you want a good quality inner-city Hotel.
