We would love to stay again
This is a really nice simple motel in a charming tiny town in the forest. We really enjoyed staying here for one night. The room on the ground floor near the entrance was large enough to comfortably take the extra single bed. With the pub quite near and the room facing the "main" road we feared noise at night - but there was no problem, and the bed was comfortable. We ate in the pub/cafe which is part of the motel (make sure you book when you arrive, as it gets full). The receptionists double as restaurant staff and are helpful and friendly. Yes the menu is typical pub food (we had excellent fish and chips) and it's order at the bar, but it is very good quality and the help-yourself salad is free and varied. The value for money is good, as is the breakfast. Between checking in and eating we could walk all round the "town" from the hotel in half an hour - the location is good. It's not the sort of place you visit again, but if we did we would certainly love to stay in this motel.

Plenty of trimmings- under-rated.
We booked in early afternoon not wanting to drive further in persistent rain to Denmark.We found all the trimmings here after having travelled 11000 km over 5 weeks. The twin room spacious with modern decor, en-suite the size of a full bathroom. Easy parking, good meals in the associated hotel next door where drinks and food were effortlessly totaled on our room bill. Reception was welcoming and efficient. I think it is a fabulous place where i could easily spend more nights.

Good hotel, just hope you dont want to stay up past 10 pm
We stayed at this hotel for one night on a trip from Albany to Margaret River. This hotel and location is a perfect half way point between these locations. The hotel itself is satisfactory, the rooms well appointed and clean. The restaurant has a good choice of food and the quality of this was good. Our only complaint was that by half past nine we were being told that the bar was closing as there was 'nothing going on' i.e. we were the only ones in there. We managed to eek our drinks out until 10pm when the lights were switched off on us and we took the hint and went to bed!! Not the welcome we had hoped for.

reasonable value in town
The room was fine, reasonably priced, nothing unusual (except for the rammed earth walls). It's on the highway but there wasn't much traffic. The food in the pub dining room was reasonable pub food. They did have some dinner specials, but unfortunately I didn't find out about them until after I'd got my food, because they were not on the menu, but were displayed on a flat screen tv that alternated between them and various scenery shots. I do think it would be a good idea to have the specials on a board near the counter where you order, or at least tell people about them.Staff at the motel were friendly and helpful.
