Best value in NYC at this clean, quiet, comfortable Soho hotel
I was delighted by the exceptional quality of this hotel. My companion and I were very comfortable in our king-sized bed, and the room size was admirable by NYC standards: not huge, of course, but there was enough room for a small desk and luggage storage. Basic amenities were all there, too: hair dryer, ironing board, safe, etc. Best of all, the room was quiet and very clean -- both priorities for me. Kudos to the staff on that point. In fact, all of the staff were extremely attentive, helpful, and friendly, from the receptionist at the front desk to the bellmen.If you're interested in exploring NY by foot and subway, the location can't be beat. Aside from being right in Soho, you'll be steps to the metro station and within 15-20 min. walking distance to Chelsea, Greenwich Village, World Trade Center, etc. Some very good restaurants are located within a 5-10 min. walk. (And if you are one to complain about pricey hotel breakfasts, try the Landmark Diner 2 min. away on Grand St. or the more upscale place next door - don't remember the name.) I will definitely be staying here again. I have stayed at hotels in Midtown that cost almost twice as much and aren't nearly this clean and quiet!

Just ok. 18 percent tip for a buffet = not ok
Check in process and room was fine. Price was $325 a night + taxes, average for this area on a weeknight. Not at all happy about an 18 percent tip on the buffet. Holiday Inn - you can suggest this is not mandatory, but who has the time to have their bill redone? I appreciate the fact that you see a lot of international tourists - but don't make your problem my problem. Our attendant at the Buffett did NOT do much to warranty the $10 she received

Great place to stay on a budget
Great place to stay on the lower east side if you want easy access to China Town, Little Italy, Soho,and TriBeCa. Also a great location to access the Brooklyn bridge and the Tenament Museam. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and very helpful--especially Abi. Would recommend to others.

Great location
We stayed here for a weekend and it offers a good location and a very comfortable bed. That's it. I think that's pretty much what one's looking for when going to NY for just one weekend and this is what you get. I would definitely stayed there again.

Great downtown location, basic hotel
I stayed here for 15 days in March for work. I enjoyed being in SoHo so close to all the downtown neighborhoods and shopping. The room was basic and small, not unlike other hotels in NYC. Luckily my room was on the top floor as I heard from other people that they could feel and hear the subway which runs under the hotel all hours of the day and night. The restaurant at the hotel is awful. With so much within walking distance, don't even bother stopping at the restaurant. The hotel is located next to several subway lines and is a short ride to Midtown. The Mondrian is just up the street as has an amazing bar and restaurant for those looking for a high-end experience on a beer budget. If staying for more than a few days, I suggest bringing shampoo and conditioner as the hotel does not offer conditioner. There are also several Duane Reade's where you can pick-up shampoo and conditioner if you don't want to bring it.Overall, the rate of the hotel, matched the experience. I wouldn't stay here again if the price was not right.
