Good location, small rooms
Good location, very nice design, cool pool with the famous SkyBar with great mood and cocktails, and the Asia de Cuvba restaurant. However, the room was small. Valet service was available in 20 minutes.

Long overdue review...
This hotel has so much potential....the location is central, great pool, love the Sky Br (although not much of a scene), amazing Asia de Cuba restaurant, amazingly spacious/ bright rooms...however their customer service doesn't much all the positive things I mentioned above when it comes down to the hotel. I'd hate to point fingers at departments and mention what went wrong, because at the end of the day it comes down to management. The root of the problem appears to be management. Although I'm not a frequent guest of the Mondrian, I often go to Asia de Cuba and their food along with amazing service is always consistent! The Sky bar also has amazing, attentive and friendly staff....can't say the same for the hotel....

I'll be back!
From the moment we got there, the staff were helpful friendly and welcoming. Just what you need after a 10 hour flight. The room was clean and tidy with good information of what was going on in the hotel and amenities. What I found particularly good was the concierge service. Not only were they willing to help, they had the best information. I was amazed that I was able to ask about where to get the best nail art in the area, and that I was told not only places I had heard of before I came to LA but some other places how to get there and descriptions so I could choose what best suited my needs. I think Greg was the name of the guy I who helped me on the desk? I'm not sure. I will definitely be back at the Mondrian hopefully sometime not to far from now.

Ok, not Great
I stayed at the Mondrian in West Hollywood in March while visiting my son. I picked this hotel for it's proximity to his apartment. The check-in process was easy, but the front desk personnel were not as friendly as they could have been and instead of showing me to the elevator and explaining how the room key was required to call the elevator, the person just pointed in its direction leaving me to figure it out on my own. The room I had was small, but functional. Be aware that the rooms are a but funky in decor, not traditional. I felt like I was in "Alice in Wonderland" with the big mirror that doubles as the TV. The bathroom was small and not well maintained. It could use some refurbishment. I did hear a lot of noise in the hallway at night. The bar on the roof was filled with hipsters and offers a great view, if you can get a seat. Dinner in the restaurant on Sunday night was very nice, great food. I would like to try another hotel on my next visit to LA.
