Great location
Great location in D.C. We had a rental car as we had driven over from Williamsburg, VA but we turned it in as soon as we got to D.C. which is good because the Capitol Hilton will charge you $40 a night for parking. We took a trolley tour which picked up right outside the hotel. This is a great way to get around the city and to see the major sites. Cost was $79 for two people. We also wanted to book the boat tour that day but it was full so if you want to do the boat excursion with the trolley company, it would be best to book this in advance. We visited the spy museum (waste of time & money) but enjoyed our trip to Arlington and the National Cathedral. There are several good restaurants near the hotel that you can walk to. McCormick & Schmicks is just a few steps away. We had access to the executive lounge so we ate breakfast which consisted of fruit, muffins, cereal and yogurt. We are diamond members of Hilton and used our reward points for the stay. The room on the 9th floor had a wet bar area (kind of a waste of space) but the bed was comfy and the bathroom was adequate - except the tub is very small and the drain didn't work properly. The room was very noisy at night. We heard sirens and cars honking throughout the entire night. Overall, it was a nice stay but I would probably look for a different location next time as there wasn't much shopping around the hotel that you could walk to.

Good hotel in the perfect location
Comfortable and clean 2 bedded room. Unfortunate view of the roof of one of the buildings, not much natural light in the room from the windows. TV was positioned strangely and difficult to view from bed. Bathroom was large and clean. Plenty of electrical outlets in the room and decent lighting. AC was nice and cold and wasn't loud. Room was very quiet. Beds were reasonably comfortable. I had called in advance to request hypoallergenic linens, but that hadn't been taken care of on check in. I wasn't going to bed right away so it wasn't a problem, but it never ceases to amaze me that hotels have such a hard time fulfilling such a simple request prior to check in so that people with allergies aren't exposed to feathers. Also, the toilet paper was of low quality considering how good the room was otherwise. Valet parking was the better part of $50. Yikes!

Perfect Location, Comfortable Bed
This was a stopover on a trip we booked at the last minute getting a great deal on hotwire. I was a little leery given that I had never used this service, but our party was completely satisfied. We arrived in very late. We knew about this ahead of time and emailed the staff. They were accommodating and able to extend our check out enough for our needs. Arriving after a day of traveling, the beds felt amazing. The room was great and clean. Due to our time constraints on heading onto our next location, this hotel was perfect for our needs with location. We were able to hit all of the sights we wanted all within walking distance. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Extremely convenient to public transportation. Good deals for weekend leisure travelers.
If you're going to rely on the public transportation system in DC (and you should - parking and driving here are no fun) this hotel makes a good home base. It's convenient to three metro stops on two different lines and very near stops for two of the simple to use Circulator bus lines. It's also very short walking distance to the White House and a slightly longer but still walkable distance to Dupont Circle and Washington Circle. It's convenient for several dining destinations.The hotel itself has a very large number of rooms so it's possible for weekend leisure travelers to snag a relatively inexpensive last minute deal. Since that's what we did we didn't have a choice of room, but we ended up with a reasonably sized Queen room. The bed seemed a little smaller than a queen but was comfortable. The bathroom was roomy enough for two adults to walk past one another without much difficulty. The toiletries are Peter Thomas Roth - pretty nice.We didn't have any problems with noise from the hallway. There's a little bit of street noise even up on the 9th floor but we didn't notice any at night.

Wonderful hotel!
I recently stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend. We were staying only one night, arriving early on Saturday and leaving on Sunday. We arrived at 9 AM not expecting to be able to check in, but we did. All staff was wonderfully helpful. Would recommend this to anyone. Location alone would make it a great stay, but so much more added to that!
