Thats why it call mini
booked there for one night only for my stop over, well lucky i booked one night. Went for check in, i love the look of lobby and quite big waiting room, staff is ok for doing their job and i find out that i have to buy additional for adaptor and such of shower kit. went up to my room, i find it even smaller than my own room at my house. Everything so installed easily. Hanging cloth above your bed, very tiny bed and it just enough u crush on bed, shower and go out. Probably its perfect for traveller who need bed only without spending more time on your room. location is very perfect, 5 minutes walking,u're in the center of city, beware of steps and at night its crowd with party zone, it is nice of u are party people. overall all is good service and they should add mini rate for mini hotel.

Great location but it's really mini!
Mini Hotel Central is situated right next to Lan Kwai Fong and it's a 5 minutes walk to the Central MTR Station. The hotel is situated uphill so to access the hotel, you will have to climb 56 steps to reach the hotel. Otherwise, you can take a longer way to avoid the steps. It is a boutique hotel and the lobby was cozy and nice. They were having some minor renovations when we were there but it wasn't noisy. The room was tinier than expected but it was self sufficient. There are enough hooks and shelf space to put all your stuff but if you are travelling with huge bags, there is definitely not enough floor space to open the bag. The room is only meant for light travellers and for a really short term trip. I also do not recommend that you stay in this room with friends as the toilets are full glass without any curtains, so you may feel uncomfortable if either one of you is using the see through bathroom.I also do not recommend this hotel for light sleepers as the walls are very thin and the air-conditioning is really noisy. They have a really bad exhaust system and the whole room condenses very badly whenever we turn the air-conditioning to under 20 degrees. So the room has to be freezing cold every time to prevent everything getting wet. Other than that, i must admit that the pricing (under USD80 a night for a double bed) is an attractive price for the great location.

Check-out at 11am
The room is small, really small. The bathroom is tiny and if you're a large man, I doubt you would fit.The locations is great as you can walk around and have the shops nearby and also several restaurants. The bed is decent but the rooms are so small and close to each other you could hear the slightest noise of your neighbor. The thing I dislike the most is the early check-out time at 11:00am as advised by the receptionist despite my booking stating my checkout time is at 12:00pm.

Mini is mini
Mini Hotel Central is a small hotel in the heart of Hong Kong Island. It is only a 5 minute walk from the Central Station BUT if you arrive with a lot of luggage, take a taxi from the station, it will be between 30-40 HKG-$ as you will be going up a hill, including many very steep stairs. The rooms are by all means very, very small. I booked a double room for myself and that was just enough space to store all my luggage (Under the bed or sink) and turn around in the room. However I had a veranda adjacent to the room which was as big as the whole room with a fantastic city view of Hong Kong. For two people the room would have only been perfect if you really like each other - and I mean REALLY like each other, as there is a glass door to the toilet and the bed is also rather small. Overall it was quiet on my floor but occasionally you could hear people going home from nearby bars but given its central location this was to be expected and was barely noticeable. The room was clean and so were the towels provided. There is free WiFi in the room and in the lobby, the signal was very good on the 12th floor. The staff always was very helpful and let me check out a little later on my last day and helped me store my luggage with them.I would very warmly recommend Mini Hotel Central for travelers who are looking for a central, and not too expensive alternative. There will be construction going on until July 30, 2013 but it will only take place between 10am and 6 pm, I hardly noticed it, besides the lobby being a little cramped. The lobby is quite big and offers an internet terminal with iMacs as well as a lot of sitting space where you might wait for your taxi to the airport, like me at the moment, listening to someone play the big piano in there, which is free for guests to use.I had a great stay but be warned - rooms are indeed small but if you are out all day and a couple, this might work fine for you.

Pretty good for a traveller who doesn't want to stay in "Firetrap Mansion" in TST
I¿¿¿d give this place 3 & ¿¿ stars, on a rating scale that 3 is adequate & 4 is very good. Since there¿¿¿s no option for a score in between, I¿¿¿ll just round it down to 3 stars due to the quirks in the air conditioning, plumbing and TV. (see below) Note: Some pictures are set sideways to accommodate all the features in the small rooms.I stayed here in May at Central for two nights in one of their ¿¿¿Solo Rooms¿¿¿ (7 sq.m area, incl. the ensuite bath).CLEANLINESS-The room, sheets, bathroom and towels provided were very clean. No insects or vermin encountered either. Hallways, elevator and lounge were clean. Rooms were very small, but this is the norm in ALL of HK except for 5 star hotels.AMENITIES-Hairdryer and personal size electric kettle provided (refer to uploaded pictures).-Bring your own toiletries (soap/shampoo is available for purchase).-Flat screen TV in front of bed which has a volume limiter function- every 10 min or so, it goes to mute which you¿¿¿ll have to manually readjust via the remote. (Probably intentionally set to reduce noise in case a guest falls asleep ¿¿¿ more on this later)*-Air conditioning was adequate, but thermostat appears to have been disabled, you either just keep it switched on full blast or have none at all.*-I confirm reports that the hot water temperature can be erratic- there is a danger of getting scalded if the temperature suddenly fluctuates.*-I¿¿¿m not claustrophobic, but when I closed the shower partition door to bathe, I had the uneasy feeling I was shut up in a coffin.*-Soundproofing is inadequate. You can practically hear muffled conversations out in the hallway or in the next room. Good luck if you have rude, inconsiderate neighbor guests.*-Storage space adequate for only one `29 inch suitcase maximum, stored under the bed.-Complimentary in room Hi speed WIFI was excellent. No dropped connections and speed was consistently over 500kbps. *not complaints, just placing these here in review for the record.SECURITY-Keycard access to rooms.-Nothing was stolen from items/luggage kept in room.-During my stay, fellow guests appeared to be decent folk, ranging from high end backpackers to businessmen in HK for a quick trip. No shady characters at hotel or around vicinity of hotel.LOCATION-Conveniently located within 5-10 min walk from Central MTR Station.-Close to the Peak Tram, Statue Square, Bank of China and other attractions in Central.-Hong Kong Island, contrasted to Tsim ShaTsui and further down Nathan Road is quite hilly however, and the shortest route via Wyndham St will require you to go up a long flight of stairs. You can skip the stairs by going through the other end of Ice House Street, but it¿¿¿s somewhat farther.-Its close to Lan Kwai Fong, but the guest need not worry about the noise from the bars since its blocks away. I was on a low floor- the 8th and I was not troubled by any noise from¿¿¿ outside (refer to comment on soundproofing above). You might find the occasional beer can or bottle in nearby alleys in the morning left over from some party goers, but nothing serious.SERVICE-Excellent. Staff at the concierge were quite friendly, and were fluent in Mandarin and English. More importantly, unlike in some other hotels, there were no ambiguous or surprise charges. Upon check in, all billing and hotel policies were exactly the same as you¿¿¿d see in your hotel booking email confirmation. Credit card pre-authorization was promptly re-credited to my card within 7 business days after settling bill in cash upon check out.CONCLUSIONFor a solo traveler or a married couple who won¿¿¿t have a problem with the glass bathroom partition (necessary to create the illusion of space), and with a nominal amount of luggage, this place is good. Not for families or unrelated folks staying together though.Though there are much cheaper places to stay in Tsim Sha Tsui or Mongkok, the price is still quite reasonable, and you can rest assured that at least this place is not a firetrap!
