Wonderful place at the beach
We stay at Hermosa quite often 1st choice is always the Beach House. On the Beach nice rooms and breakfast included. Looking forward to next stay. Celebrated Birthday and Mothers Day. Beach House never disappoints.

Everything it Promises to be
I wanted to be as close to the beach as possible, but in a price range that excluded super high-end properties like Shutters--I couldn't be happier with my experience! My 3rd floor oceanfront room was large, immaculate, and had a stunning view of the beach and ocean. The balcony was a great size. The gas fireplace topped off the coziness, and the kitchenette was great--not something I necessarily needed, but I appreciated being able to go to a store a couple of blocks away and come back to plates and utensils. I can't remember the last time I fell asleep to the sound of the ocean, and I slept better than I have in ages. Really a perfect retreat worth every penny--I'm very glad I pushed the envelope on my budget a little.The staff weren't exactly warm and fuzzy, but entirely competent and not rude at all. The area around the hot tub could use some updating--any sort of decor at all, really--but I spent little time there since the room was so great. The slapping-sound of volleyballs being hit back and forth was very mildly grating after awhile, but considering the location, I don't feel like I have any right to complain--I was on their turf. The South Bay atmosphere was a far better fit for me than Santa Monica, the only beach area in LA I've stayed previously.It seems that a lot of negative reviews are related to confusion about ocean view vs. oceanfront. I knew that I was only interested in oceanfront, and from reading earlier reviews I knew I'd prefer a 3rd floor room--so after booking, I emailed to confirm that it was in fact an oceanfront room and to ask for the 3rd floor if possible. The hotel promptly responded, confirming the room type and making a note of my floor preference though they couldn't guarantee it--upon check in, they mentioned the note and were able to accommodate it. If in doubt, I'd definitely recommend being proactive to avoid disappointment.

Best Hotel on the Beach!
My wife and I stayed 2 nights over Mothers Day weekend, and our room was beautiful -- comfortable kingsize bed, small kitchenette, 2 HDTV's, a fireplace, and a balcony large enough to have a few friends over. The balcony overlooked the entire beach area and the Strand below.We paid a premium upgrade to get the full ocean view, and it was totally worth it!Everything in the hotel was clean -- lobby, corridors, and, of course, rooms! Despite being that close to the ocean, nothing was damp and nothing smelled musky -- nothing! It was all clean and dry.The continental breakfast was simple, and we had the option to eat inside or outside on the patio.Some of our friends chose a different, cheaper hotel down the Strand, and there is no comparison... When I go back to Hermosa Beach, I will definitely stay here at the Beach House.

BEST LA EXPERIENCE
One of the best staff's I ever encounter at any hotel . The location was great for the beach and everything in town. Room's were large and very clean. We had a couple's spa experience in our room looking over the beach and the pacific ocean was awesome the spa staff was very professional.I highly recommend this hotel.
