Decent Hotel, Great Location
Decent, clean hotel in a fantastic location. Just steps from Little Italy and only a short jaunt to the Gaslamp district, this is a wonderful base in San Diego. It is very close to the airport. Depending on where your room is there's some noise from the highway and airport, but that's not a dealbreaker for me. The warm cookies are a great touch. The bar is just okay, but the staff that works it is fantastic. I'd stay here again.

Not a 3 1/2 star hotel, but not bad
I booked this hotel because we had an early morning flight and it's close to the SAN airport. Supposedly it's a 3 1/2 star hotel but it feels more like 2 1/2. The room was large with a balcony but everything seemed really cheap. The dresser was leaning to the right, there were chips and cracks in the bathtub and the ceilings were really low. Besides that, there was a door that connected to an adjacent room (old fashioned!!) and after we turned out the lights in our room, the light from the adjacent room shone in from under the door! But hey, it was only $95 and they did have a free shuttle to the airport. So it wasn't a bad deal, just not 3 1/2 stars.

Run away.
Will never book with Trip Advisor again. Overcharged for room. Horrible hotel. Also told that hotel was only 2 blocks from where I needed to walk to and it was really an avenue away. Big difference. The only good thing that came out of this stay was that the staff was nice, but hotel was old and dirty.

Wished it was better ...
Stayed at the hotel for a conference hosted at the hotel. The location was convenient to restaurants in the area, which was nice because the hotel shuttle did not go anywhere but the airport. Customer service was mixed - sometimes good, sometimes awful. Lobby area was loud and uncomfortable. Rooms were adequate. Balcony was nice, bathroom average, AC unit was noisy and hard to control for room comfort.

Good hotel close ro downtown
The hotel is close to the airport, just outside of the downtown area. Quite convenient, exspecially when arriving late at night. Little Italy, the Gaslamp district and the harbour are easy to reach on foot. The downside is the amount of noise from the highway and the aiport, if your room is facing to the north. Staff is friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was okay - not an extensive selection, but enough for my taste. The rooms are clean and nicely furnitured. The fitness room is small, but was not crowded. The pool is on the roof outside but pretty small. Be warned: The garage has tight ramps and a lot of lots which are only suitable for compact cars! All in all a pleasent stay.
