Good value and excellent location
One of the many apartment hotels in Melbourne, but one of the best (and I have stayed in a lot). Its located right by the Market and a short walk from the centre. If you get the airport bus in it's pretty close. The smaller apartment I am in is well equiped and laid out. OK it could do with more drawers and/or shelves but it is fine. By Australian standards the wifi is fast and cheap especially for longer stays. The staff are really helpful. BA had managed to loose my bags and they could not have done more to make my life easier. The cafe next door is really very very good for breakfast and lunch. If you get a room overlooking the market then sunsets over the hills from picture windows and your balcony are an added attraction.The television has full Sky service, the ability to hook in iPhones and DVD players, speakers etc. Difficult to fault for the price. Room service is via a third party and is OK but you are better going out anyway in Melbourne, or buying stuff in the market and cooking it for yourselves. The organic section in the market is especially good.

Modern Apartments at a reasonable price!
As already mentioned, this is a modern, well located place to stay. We stayed here for 5 nights and were more than satisfied. The price we got was great for our budget. It's really handy location wise, a short walk into the centre with the free tram stop also a minute's walk. The apartment was well equips, should you wish to cook/ study / do laundry but we were on holiday so didn't bother.

Overnight for business
I have stayed at City Temp a few times, just as an overnighter to attend business meetings in Melbourne. It fits well into today's tight business budgets but because it is central, makes it even more affordable as CBD meetings don't require taxi trips. The apartments have absolutely everything I need, including a powerboard next to the bed so I can use it to charge up my phone while also using it as a bedside alarm. I would recommend this place to all business travellers.

Great Value
Very modern, central location with great staff. I'll come back. The rooms are not big but for sleeping in they are great. The rooms are all wired up for a modern business person and the desk area was perfect.

Value for money - if the price is right...
We stayed at City Tempo for 4 nights in January 2013 while the Australian Open was on in Melbourne. Accommodation at this time is very expensive so we went for a self contained option to try and save money with meals. Upon arriving, the staff were really friendly and offered to look after our bags while we went out for a few hours as our room wasn't ready. (we were early) We were given a map and some friendly advice and sent off on our way. We were told that Federation Square was too far to walk, and found it only to be 15 minute walk. When we arrived in our room it was as described. A one bedroom apartment. I was disappointed to discover that the room was a lot smaller than the picture they use on the website... ALOT smaller. If it were not for a wall between the couch and bedroom, you could have called it a studio room. None the less, the room was clean and well furnished.I echo comments others have made regarding the glass in the shower. I shared the room with my partner so it wasn't an issue for us, but definately worth noting if you are travelling with friends, on business etc.The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the Queen Victoria markets where there is an abundance of fresh food - not only produce but on site dining as well. The tram stop is on the corner taking you anywhere around the city and a cab fare to Crowne Casion is less than $15 (in the evening). Hardware Lane is a 5 mintue walk and has some great restaurants and cafes.Down side - ordering Chinese takeaway from the in room menu - our fried rice arrived in a chinese container wiht half of it missing. Perhaps the delivery guy got hungry? All in all, we would stay here again if the price was right. It really isn't far from the main centre of the CBD and is a relatively quiet part of town. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. There wasn't a wow factor but it did the job.
