Palmira bar upgrade
I hadn't been to the Radisson since I checked out a few months ago. I went to meet a friend in the lobby bar and see some old friends behind the bar last night, but the hotel was packed with a twice-yearly yoga-certification convention and the lobby was jammed. So we met our friend in the Palmira restaurant bar. The bartender (Abel) remembered both my wife's name and mine, as well as our favorite drinks and how we liked them prepared. Last night was the first night of their jazz series in that venue (Friday and Saturday nights, $20 food and/or minimum, but that doesn't take much these days.) The music was good, a small combo, but a little loud for conversation. Street parking was a bear, so we used the valet and were surprised to get comped (it's down to $3.00 from $7.00 anyway; not sure why.) Overall, a nice change from the neighborhood scene lately, and we'll be going back. Just a note about "desiringtotravelmore"s note about the overpriced restaurant menu; I agree, and it's mainly the a la carte format that drives the prices up. That's why I usually go with the rack of lamb. It's the best lamb I've ever had, and the side orders are included at the same price as most of the entr¿¿s alone.

Old rooms, Uncomfortable Beds, NO A/C
The room was old, filthy carpet, dirty bathroom, horribly uncomfortable beds and pillows, the air conditioning didn't even turn on, and the windows in the room don't open. The tv was from the 80's and got terrible reception and only a few channels. The hallways are muggy and smelly. Go somewhere else. The courtyard is just across the street for the same price...

Efficient, very practical.
Walking distance to LAX, very practical, easy access.Good for meetings, quick one night stays.Room service food is OK.Restaurant downstairs is ridiculously overpriced.Cafeteria is OK.Conference rooms on the last floor upstairs. Projector charges are too high, better bring you own. Everything else is fine.

Adequate
We stayed here one night as we were flying out early the next day. We were a bit scared after some of the horrible reviews on here but I have to be honest, it really really wasn't that bad - in fact we were left scratching our heads about some of the awful experiences people have been reporting. That said it wasn't anything special, it was just adequate the room was comfortable and clean, there was free wifi, again it wasn't great wifi - but it did the job. The plane noise wasn't an issue, and we had a good nights sleep. Don't be scared off by the bad reviews, if you get a good price, this is a perfectly fine place to spend a night or two if you need to be close to the airport.

Just right for an overnight stay
My sister and I stayed here two days and one night as part of a long flight from DC to New Zealand. It is right by the airport with a shuttle that comes by often to pick up/drop off passengers. The shuttle driver helped with getting the luggage on and off the shuttle, which was much appreciated. There were a number of people on the shuttle, but it was not crowded. The drivers were pleasant. The hotel was clean. The room was large and had a coffee pot and refrigerator. In the lobby are a couple of restaurants. We only ate at the self-serve one, which had fruit and sandwiches and salads. We could have ordered hot food from the bar, too. There is a Subway close by. There is an In/Out Burger in a shopping center, which is a long walk along a busy road with sidewalks. Everyone on staff at the hotel was nice and helpful. I would stay at this Radisson again.
