Small room, good breakfast
We managed to find our way to the hotel without problems nad although the room was very small it was no surprise, we had expected that. Once we forgot our camera somewhere, thought we had lost it, but the friendly staff in the reception had taken good care of it when we forgot it on the counter while checking in, thanks to them for that! The breakfast was OK and the location of the hotel as expected, not that near to the central sights but not that far, either. So all in all we were happy with our stay and would surely stay at the hotel, if we only have the time to visit Japan again.

Not too easy to find for first timers...
Not so easy by train from the airport if you are first timer to Osaka . The train to Namba station is easy enough but finding the subway line to the hotel was a problem and the station was huge and language was a problem. I had done my research prior to that and knew the name of the line but finding it was a problem .Finally found the signage , it was on the floor. Walking to the line station was nearly 15 min - thank goodness Namba station had plenty of underground shops so it was an interesting walk. From the exit of metro, it was easy as it was within seeing distance. The rooms are usual Japanese standard - small but effieciently arranged. Clean and compact. But the great thing was its breakfast buffet spread, it was generous with both western and japanese options.Coming back from Hokkaido, I stayed in sheraton osaka and for the US30 difference and breakfast , I would still take sheraton, rooms were huge, location was great and the shuttle bus to and from the airport was just at the doorstep.

Cheap
The room was pretty small and a a little bit worn, and we didn't have a view. The window was etched glass and could not be opened. This was made all the worse the first night when an unmistakable sewer smell crept into the room. I don't know why this happened or if it was the hotels fault, but it was gone the next day and it didn't come back.Other than that the room was clean and tidy and we could log onto the internet by cable, which you can get for free in the reception. The staff was helpfull and the breakfast was surprinsingly good. The hotel is located right next to a subway station .The one thing that wasn't really cool was that the spa wasn't open for women and men at the same time, and the women definitely get the short end of the stick with only about 1-1,5 hours in the morning and the same in the evening. The rest of the time it was only open to men.

Free Breakfast
I stayed in a single room small & cosy, only trouble I was there in Typhoon season so had to stay in some time as the weather outside was terrible TV only in Japanese so had to watch the SUMO wrestling as this was the only one I could understand. Otherwise the breakfast was very good again all written in Japanese maybe next time I should have a phrase book. The bathtub was hard for me to get into so I sat on the edge. I would recommend this Hotel to others as the station is a hop skip and jump away. 7-11 and other food outlets very close and cheap.

Small, but good!
We recently spent 6 nights at this hotel, and enjoyed it very much. The staff spoke passable English for our needs, but it could be an issue if you have specific requests out side of the norm. It's Japan after all, so the rooms are small but comfortable enough. The location is ideal for getting around Osaka, and the region: it's less than two blocks from Awaza station which is fairly centrally located and easy to get to the major stations for transfers. The buffet breakfast makes this hotel a great value! There aren't a lot of western style breakfast options, but everything offered if tasty and 'when in Rome', right? :-) Do take an evening to visit the onsen(public bath) on the lower level of the hotel, it's delightful. The onsen is and gender segregated and as other reviewers have mentioned, don't bring a bathing suit. Also, men get to use the onsen during most optimal times, except on weekends. The only reason I will not give this hotel 5 stars is because it's not labeled well. We walked past the hotel three times before we realized where it was. There is no sign out front and the welcome mat is the only indication that it's a hotel, and the name on the mat is not "New Oriental Hotel". Not a big deal, but annoying.
