Newly remodeled, Clean, Secure
Stayed here for a few days. Staff is mostly friendly, a couple of them need to realize they are in the people business.Food at the little cafe was mediocre. I would suggest going across the street to one of the largest Trader Joe's there is, and picking up a salad or two. My room did have a refrigerator, which was helpful, and a coffee maker, but no microwave. Business center was handy, as I had to print out some reports, but the area around the printers is not kept up. I found a few somewhat sensitive documents that a guest attempted to print, but the print job must have failed. These documents were laying by the printer, for all to see. There was someone's name, address, and some highly personal information. It would have been nice for some attention to be paid there.Housekeeping did a good job, although a different number of clean towels was placed each day, so sometimes I was shorted a couple of them. I understand this was an old Holiday Inn that was recently transformed to this Courtyard by Marriott. I don't know what it looked like before, but the decor is inviting and the lobby and rooms have a good feel to them.

Nickel and Dimed
This is an average Courtyard hotel, and although newly remodeled it is still just an average facility. On a noisy street by the highway, next door to a car dealership in suburban LA. The first few times I stayed here there was no charge for parking and now they charge $11.00 a night for a surface lot. What a joke. Try other hotels in the area, this isn't worth it.

Brand New - Well Designed; however ...
It is very nice. The staff is very good. The rooms are well designed. Everything works; however, I would add the following comments: a) AC was a bit noisy; however, I like quiet. I turned it off to sleep.b) Really, you are going to charge me for parking? Just put it in the rate. I dislike being 'hit' with unexpected charges that are solely designed to increase the rate. You do have some very good competition in the area - that doesn't charge and are also new.

Very Nice but Over-Priced
We had to vacate our nearby home for several days while a water problem was repaired. This former Holiday Inn within walking distance was recently made over into a Courtyard, and was the logical choice for us.The rooms are tastefully done, beds and linens top-notch, and staff very friendly.But I cannot rate this hotel as above average because its priced as though its location was a resort, rather than a busy city on the west end of the San Fernando Valley, best known as a financial and insurance company center. Located on the main thoroughfare and within a stone's throw from the freeway, it's anything but a resort hotel.Despite the dry air of this location and its pricey rooms,according to staff the parent company has decided to not provide even a bottle or two of free water to guests, and instead offers drink and snack purchases from its shop behind the lobby. Other national chain hotels are nearby, and while not new and as nicely furnished, they are priced substantially lower. The Hilton, for example, less than a mile away, has comparable rooms for 30-40% less, and we would be hard-pressed to recommend this hotel.

Great new hotel with fantastic staff
We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our trip to California. The hotel had only opened a couple of months before, so everything still looked very new and fresh and the hotel is in a nice area. The room was clean, bright and nicely decorated with everything that we needed. What really stood out was the friendly & helpful service we received - we mainly dealt with Dana at reception who was fantastic and also gave us some great recommendations for local places to eat. We had one issue on the last night (caused by another guest smoking who was ejected for that reason) but it was dealt with promptly and professionally and the staff were very apologetic, even though it was not their fault in anyway. Although the hotel is a little way outside Downtown LA we could still easily get to all the main sights and attractions without it taking too long, and we felt safe in the area the hotel was situated, unlike some other areas of LA that we had driven through when looking for accommodation. If we go back to LA we'd definitely look at staying here again.
