I got a deal and stay in this hotel/location for the first time. Got a standard room which was huge. Complimentary drinks and snack every day, wifi free pretty fast. There are plenty of underground station nearby and if I have to find a fault it's the location which is not great for a day of midtown shopping and a lot of bags (but you can always pick up a taxi or choose the andaz 5 av!!!). I'll consider this hotel for my future trip to NYC for sure!!

This was my second stay at the Andaz Wall Street. Overall, it wasn't as good as the first. I stayed longer this time, 4 full days (compared to the 2 days during my first one). Plus I upgraded to the large King room, the one with the spinning wardrobe and the "be seen" open bath.The hosts are still very good at what they do and the room is nice, let's be clear about that. I love the room size (all 40 sqm of it), the motorized black-out shade, the controllable lights, and yes, even that spinning wardrobe (which should really have some shelving on it rather than just this huge open space). However, the longer your stay, the more some of the odd design choices jump out on you. For example, I do not understand the absence of drawers to store clothing (other than jackets, suits, etc. which can be hanged in the wardrobe). One doesn't really care about the absence of drawers during a short stay but on a longer stay, the absence becomes an annoyance. Plus, my room did not have a luggage rack either. I had to request for one which, after a comical mix-up, did arrive more or less promptly. The shower area is huge but the absence of a physical barrier separating the shower area from the rest of the "bath" (which also features that humongous tub) means that water tends to seep out to the wooden floor beyond the glass partition door. I still do not get the absence of a towel hook or the too shallow sink, but those are nitpicks.Other negatives of my stay -- the coffee, juices and snacks in the lobby are gone; I could hear banging doors one morning, courtesy of the guy re-filling the mini-bars in rooms adjoining mine; the WiFi, while free, remains slow; my mini-bar did not get refilled during one day; and the snack items in the min-bar did not change. Oh, I got charged USD15 for taking the laundry bag... it is a nice laundry bag but a $15 charge? Really?Positive "changes" (compared to my previous stay) -- the channels on the LCD TV are in HD, my last stay featured analog channels only and lower Manhattan has much more going for it these days; lots more places to eat, for example, without the throngs of people in Midtown.

I have never written a comment on trip advisor but the Andaz Wall Street deserves every second of this post! it is the best hotel that I have EVER visited! The staff exceeded ALL expectations and go out of their way to help you! The general manager of the hotel even helped us load our suitcases into a cab! I cannot thank them enough for all their service and genuine care! The rooms are spectacular as well, very modern and funky with all the hyatt luxuries!! The rooms are also very spacious...I would stay here every time I come to NYC...thank you thank you THANKYOU ANDAZ WALL STREET!!!

My wife and I stayed at the Andaz Wall Street at the end of May, room 1708.In advance of our stay I emailed the hotel to advise that we were travelling back to New York to celebrate our anniversary, after getting married in Central Park in 2010. I enquired as to whether the hotel could do anything for my wife as a surprise. I got a response almost immediately to say that they would have "a couple of surprises" when we stayed. Nothing came of this, and I can't say I'm particularly surprised!First impressions upon arrival were good. Lobby was smart and modern. Staff, despite not looking busy, took a while to acknowledge our presence and get us booked in.Room was smart, and generally well cleaned. Furnite was nice and modern, but looking slightly tatty in places. Nothing major though.Our room was on the 17th floor, giving views of adjascent buildings. It was nice to be on a higher floor, away from the hussle and bussle. Hotel was very quiet. I dont recall hearing any other guests throughout our stay. The sink area in our room was too dark, as was the toilet. I think it was a case of putting style before substance as it was very nice looking, even if it was at the cost of practicality. We particularly liked the window next to the bath that allowed you to see into the bedroom area. The bath however was square, which meant I was unable to stretch out and relax without having my feet out of the bath next to the taps. I'm only 5'6". I didnt use the shower, but my wife commented that she could only get cold or very hot water to flow from it. Going back to my earlier comment about cleaning, there was a 1" blob of blood on one of the rooms walls that was there for a least 3 days at the end of our trip. It was clearly visible on the white walls, and did not come from me or my wife! I wonder if its still there even now?!On the whole we felt that the hotel was good, but not brilliant. Our previous stay in New York at the Renaissance Time Square was better, purely because the hotel and its rooms were nicer and the view was better.I wouldn't stay here again, purely because I feel there are better value for money places to stay in NYC.

Very pleased with this hotel, location is very convenient. Not a really busy area, but close to subway links and ferry / helicopter ports. Very friendly and competent staff, easy and quick check-in, excellent quality room - and very large by New York standards. The only bad point is the ambiance (or lack of it) in the hotel bar, and the price of drinks (in particular a glass of wine) there. Far better to drink the wine in the room mini-bar!
