Too many extras
After paying more than $300 a night I find extrange to pay extra 50% for early check in, $ 15 for internet in your room ( in most 3stars hotels that I¿¿ve been lately is free) or $ 20 to use a PC for 1,5 hour.Also it¿¿s hard to find something open around the hotel in the night. Lacation is not the best unless you are in the financial bussines. I¿¿m not camming back.

Poor start, great ending
Staying on the red level business floors, we looked forward to our express check-in and welcome drink. We got neither. One room wasn't ready and it took an age to hand over two room keys in plain white envelopes.It improved from there, though - comfy rooms, excellent service, great red lounge and a cracking breakfast. Oh, and a pretty stunning view, too. It was very quiet when we were there, but we were told changes were being ads as the hotel is now owned by Kempinski. That should make a good hotel really great.

Classy rooms, meals too costly!
My girlfriend and I stayed nearly a week in the fairly new hotel.Excellent quality furnishings in the spacious rooms make for restful stay.Enjoyable too the wonderful views from modern, luxurious, very clean rooftop pool and spa.Only fly in the ointment was the high cost of restaurants,for those on restrictedexpense accounts, so alternative was to head for the shopping centres a good 10 mins.away on foot.

Great Hotel!
This was a great Hotel, went there for a trade show. Downfall was that there is no WIFI in the rooms, you have to go downstairs for the WIFI. Location is not the greatest either, nothing around you really. Overall it's not bad, but I would try to find something closer to the city centre with WIFI in the room. If you don't care about those 2 things, then you will LOVE this hotel.

Impeccable
This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Everything, from check in to checkout was flawless.The hotel itself physically, is absolutely beautiful. Only three years old, every aspect of the hotels design is wonderful. We upgraded to red level. This is really worth doing. It cost us an extra ¿¿46 per night. This included free Internet Wi-Fi, access to the red Level Lounge on the 26th floor, breakfast, cocktails at 6 o'clock in the evening, plus all day coffee and snacks. But the most wonderful part of having access to the red level lounge, was in the attention of the brilliant staff. Every morning at breakfast, they serve freshly squeezed orange juice. As I'm not a big fan of orange juice, I asked for apple juice. Every day for the rest of our stay, I was brought without asking, a freshly squeezed apple juice! The wonderful staff, really do make you feel like an extremely valued guest. I only wish I had got the name of the girl who served us every morning, she was absolutely brilliant. I have to say that I'm quite sad, that the gran Melia Shanghai, will become a Kempinski from today. Part of what makes gran Melia special, Is a unique sense of the Spanish nature of the brand. The hotel has three restaurants, one Spanish, one Chinese, and one in Italian. We had some of the most excellent tapas And the chefs special a suckling pig, in the Spanish restaurant, some fantastic Shanghai Chinese food in the other restaurant, and the standards were phenomenal. Our room was brilliant. We had a view over the Huangpo river. Two huge beds, an amazing bathroom with a deep soaking tub, and separate shower, separate toilet, and very exciting, warmed mirrors so that they never steamed up! All in all, I can honestly say that this is one of the best hotels I have ever reviewed here. It truly reaches the standards of a four seasons property.Thank you to every member of staff , you made this an incredibly memorable stay.
