Excellent for the price
Very clean, fresh room, decent space, decent LCD TV with limited English choices however this is the case even with 5 stars hotels in China, decent location, good breakfast to get you going, limited English skills of staff - again this is normal for China.. Complete set of room amenegies,, stayed for 2 nights and it was perfectly fine for me..

Could be better
Hotel is located in a good area, but its just in the back alley which is very difficult to find. My taxi driver struggled to locate and had to make 2 phone calls to locate. Rooms are big and comfortable. I felt service can be improved upon. For example I went to the front desk at around 8pm with some issue and there were a total of 6 young girls all standing and joking. I had to work myself to get some attention of one of the girls. Breakfast is ok, nothing to make a special mention. One cant blame the restaurant staff for good service since they are well versed in english. Difficult to communicate with them.This hotel can be very good if the service issues are looked into by the Management.Special mention about the value for money which is excellent. Overall one can stay here for siteseeing all day and rest in the night.

Excellent place to stay with friendly receptionist , nice room ( similar standard to those in the UK ) . I was meeting a friend in Beijing so this location suited me as it was close to where he lived and made it easy for him to pick me up. On the occasions I caught a cap to Tiananmen Square it cost about 40 RM . Taxi's easy to hail and some small convenience stores one 24/ 7 literally next door. Felt very safe for lone female traveller. The hotel shop is reasonably priced although I didn't get it there was a tea set for 150 RM and the exalt same model was 650 with discount at Summer Palace. Olympic city is within walking distance all in all a great location and great hotel. Breakfast was ok and unlike most hotels is included... I'm staying at the Central Hotel in Shanghai and I paid almost double but breakfast not included! I had breakfast twice in four days and it didn't kill me ! There was rice, noodles, toast , eggs , sausage ( the Eastern European type) . Wifi was free although connection not great in rooms but works brilliant in foyer . I'd definitely recommend this hotel!

Average at best, good location, poor service
We stayed 3 nights during our Beijing tour, the lobby is air conditioned and clean, however the rooms had no a/c and we were unfortunate enough to have a view of the market and not the nice pond on the backside. For Beijing it was ok, but the biggest drawback was the concierge and receptionists did not speak a lick of English. Have patience and try to use a translator app on your mobile otherwise you both will be looking at each other awkwardly. Location wise it was nice, about 15 min walk to Olympic park and to the shopping areas. There is also a large mall adjacent to the hotel. Complimentary breakfast was good and there is alot of food choices nearby.

Difficult to find!
Having just stayed at a Holiday Inn in another part of China, this Holiday Inn ¿¿¿Express¿¿¿ felt a little basic. And difficult to find at night. Please, Holiday Inn Express, put some signs on the main road, so when you arrive by Metro and it¿¿¿s dark, you can actually find the hotel. The entrance is located up a small, badly lit service road which leads up to the ¿¿¿China Town¿¿¿ shopping mall. Although you can see the gleaming Holiday Inn Express tower from a distance, trying to get to it is very tricky unless you find the tiny delivery roads leading to it. No main roads leading to this hotel!My room was large and clean, although the windows were not. Being an ¿¿¿Express¿¿¿ hotel meant it was lacking in a mini bar and the other mod-cons you would find in a normal Holiday Inn. Free wireless internet access was available throughout the hotel, although it was a little slow and unreliable. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was nothing special and the dining room was somewhat noisy. The hotel is close to the Olympic Park, only 5 minutes walk from the Metro and next door to a fairly basic shopping mall, so the location is quite good.Given the choice, I would probably choose to find another hotel in Beijing next time.
