this hotel was much better than i expected after reading the reviews we had a large twin ( both double ) unusual shaped room it was almost like two separate rooms on the top floor ,the bathroom was small but adequate all very clean and including towels and hairdrier the beds were clean very comfy with nice white cotton sheets the only thing that would have enhanced the room would have been tea and coffee facilities or just a kettle and cups , the breakfast was good value basic french breakfast the staff were initially appeared to be not too friendly and the area left a little to be desired however the staff warmed up and we became acclimatised to our surroundings taking the metro from la chappell quickly into paris or returning to the hotel in the evening by taxi over all it was a good value basic adequate base to see Paris from

Stayed at the Hotel Faubourg 216-224 Rue Du Faubourg Saint Denis, 10. Gare du Nord, 75010 Paris for 4 nights to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The location of the hotel is just off the tourist area of the Gare du Nord area and is a little seedy. The hotel is very large but the rooms are small and in need of an overhaul. The reception area is OK and depending who is on the reception service went from couldn't care less to very helpful. The continental breakfast is adequate but served in a small cellar like room under the hotel and needs work to bring it up to standard. Having said that, our room was clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable, also the room safe was free. None of the above diminished our enjoyment of Paris, which was just magical.

We stayed here just for the one night having booked off the website, when we read the reviews I thought I had made a mistake but on arrival the hotel seemed ok. The lift is very small and we had a job to get two suitcases in together. It is in the indian district but it didn't worry us to much. The room was fairly small but clean and tidy and the bathroom tiny, it was a job to even get to the loo. On the plus side it was quiet. The tv didn't have any English speaking channels and we couldn't work the air conditioning. It is close to Gare Du Nord just one straight road and the staff spoke a degree of English. Suitable for one night but wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay

The hotel is not very close to Gare du Nord, it is located in a very narrow street, not very easy to find esp when you're carrying with luggage. My husband & I were closely followed by some gangster-liked people on the 1st day of arrival before check-in, really horrible. When you're going out, you'd find people leered at you when passing by. Really a safety problem for district like this for tourist. It's extremely dangerous at night time, no people at street and there's many drinkers sitting on street. So, the hotel is not suitable for ladies and whom travel alone. My room was located at top floor and there was no wifi connection. The room and toilet were very small, the toilet was having a drainage smell. What's more, the lift was extremely small, it could only accommodate 1 person with luggage each time.

My wife and I booked this hotel through Expedia ( through phone call ) . We arrived at the hotel at about 10.00pm ( Paris time). the counter receptionist recevied all the letters and gave us the order to go to the rooms on our own that is in the last block. this is the first time we are in Paris and we did not know how o enter and so on. I came back 3 time to get a good knowledge how to enter the building/hotel. The answer is that : touch the card at the bell the door will open. I cannot find any bell only a black knob. I entered the room via a small lift with all my bags. I do not know where the owner got the lift from, and the owner did not think whether the lift is fit for a hotel or not. The lift it self is making some noise as you step in. I found in the bath room there are only 1 picece of soap and nothing more othere than a botle of bath gel. This is a three star hotel no shower cap and two towels are there. Two single bed and a LED samsung tv. and all the channels are french and nothing like BBC, CNN or even Sky and no sports channel was fitted, There is also no english subtitles under the programmes for us to understand. this is - hotel tortures you have to undergo - for paying 139Euros for a night. No coffee/ tea making facilities, you have abar without any drinks - only tea or coffee onl;y. We stayed 10 nights in this hotel.and for breakfast you have to pay exra 10 Euros pe pax. So we did want to pay instead we opted to eat out side and both of paid about 10 Euros for breakfast. Breakfast in this hotel is only bread, butter and jam. that is all for the 10 days we saw.Tour can be booked from the hotel and hotel receives some commission. and the commission is paid from your pocket. Even the airport shuttle can be arrange and the hotel gets 8 Euros per pax fpr arranging. the driver gets 10 Euros for driving you to the airport. As this hotel is near to Gare du Nord, ( Northern Railway station) it is abour 100 meters to the station, another metro train station La Chappelle is just near by about 40 meters from the hotel . The bus station to go to eiffel tower ( in french " tour") take the bus no 42 from GAre d u Nord. To the Louvre Museum is bus no 48, all these busses and many more are just beside the railway station. Bus no 48 you get on just in front of your hotel, and after midnight till early hours in the morning you can get a airport bus just in front of the hotel if not just drag your bags to La chappelle station to take a train to CDG. or to Gare du Nord. just 9 Euros.From Gare du Nord you can even get a thalys train to Brussels, Amsterdam and so on. Conclusion: Give me 139 Euros, in my country Malaysia I can give you a Five star hotel with free Asian and continental breakfast, I can give you a complimentary dinner for that amount.
