Reasonably good value for money
My fiance and I stayed here for a belated Valentine's weekend this year and we found the staff to be friendly and accomodating. The rooftop restaurant was closed because they said they only open in the warmer months, so that was a bit disappointing. We also got locked out of our room because the door lock broke and the key wouldn't work. But the front desk lady called someone who came quite quickly to fix it. She said it was the first time it had happened, so I guess we were unlucky. The breakfast buffet was nice although if you're British, you may not enjoy the milk that you have to use for tea and coffe - it's VERY creamy. We found this to be the case everywhere. The hotel is based just 2 minutes' walk to the Metro so it's incredibly convenient. It's even 2 minutes to the nearest hop on, hop off bus tour which I highly recommend! It's also within walking distance to the popular Gazzi district if you don't mind walking through some dodgy looking streets to get there. All in all, since we feel we got this place for a steal, this is a hotel that you wouldn't necessarily want to hang out in and enjoy, but it's great for travelers who want a clean bed, friendly staff, and somewhere that is not too far out of the way of all the hotstops.

Good value
The room was good (good mattress and pillow). The breakfast was good (good variety, fresh bread). It was what we expected for the price. As for parking, the receptionist allowed us to use one of the 2 parking spaces adjacent to the hotel. We also got a room with the view of the Acropolis.

Great stay on a budget
I had a great stay at this hotel. I was actually sent over here from Filoxenia Hotel as an "upgrade." (I didn't have to pay anything, and the receptionist even paid for my cab ride. It was just an upgrade to a better, more safely located hotel - probably because I was traveling alone.) The Apollo Hotel is very conveniently located within five minutes of a metro station, which will take you to Syntagma Square, Monastiraki Square, or the Acropolis in a matter of minutes. The staff were very nice and helpful. The room was cleaned and supplied with new towels/soaps everyday. It was also equipped with a phone, TV, mini fridge, and safe. Breakfast was basic: bread, meat and cheese, fruits, etc.Only complaints:Even though I was on the fourth floor and facing away from the street, it was still very loud. I think the walls are just thin. I could hear doors opening and closing, people talking, showers being run, etc. Also, wifi is free, but it took an hour for it to connect to my iPhone. After that I had no problems though.Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're traveling on your own and/or on a budget.

Good location but expensive for what it gives.
The staff is excellent and very polite. They helped us a lot.The rooms are a little bit small and you can barely moove. The bathroom was not so clean and the water pressure was not enough. At night was disaster. People were screaming and shouting in the corridors, they were screaming and laughing and you couldn't sleep.After all there are better and cheaper hotels to stay in the area.

Excellent value for money
If your expectations match the price you pay you will be delighted with the Apollo. Our room was not large but had a tv, fridge, safe, fresh towels daily and was clean. We took our own travel kettle was came in very useful. The breakfast was continental with a good supply of bread, cheese, meat, jam, fruit, eggs and cereal. It is round the corner from stop 13 on the red tour bus route and the Metaxourgio metro station. The staff were excellent. Would definately recommend it if you are on a budget.
