Never again
After a very long drive all my mother and I wanted was a good meal and a good night sleep. The Guy at reception seemed to think he was the conciege at the Sheraton. His manner was arrogant. First he gave me directions to 1 room but the key to a completly different room. When I realized the key wasn't the right one I went back down and he said I had been upgraded so I was very lucky and gave me new directions. I asked where I could find somewhere decent to eat (meaning I didn't want fastfood takeaway) He said with a sneer "you mean cheap". I said "no, I mean reasonable food". The room looked ok although it smelt funny. The view was good but that was the only endearing quality. We could hear the TV from the next room. Not good when you need sleep. We could hear all the goings on outside our room. Every door opening, every conversation. As if that wasn't bad enough, after everyone had settled for the night on and off all night there was this noise like someone was flushing a toilet or turning on and off a tap. The shower was not great and the toiletries, to say they were 'No Frills' was an over statement. There were plenty of other places cheaper or at around the same cost and closer to where we wanted to go the next day but the name Park Regis gave me confidence. It wont again.A budget hotel at best.

Won't be back
Check in was pleasant but it went downhill from there. After checking could hear some bogan yelling out obscenities over the phone from the top floor above our room. The lifts are secure but a pain in the butt when you have to use your key each time to use the lift to go upstairs.Upon arrival on our floor my entire family walked outside and slipped over on the wet flooring. I was injured the most and spent the next day limping around. The floor between the lift and put room was like glass and there were no warning signs in place. I later reported this with a front counter girl who showed concern and checked that I was alright. She said that she would speak to maintenance about it. When we arrived in the room we were over powered by an aroma that we later discovered was coming from a aromatherapy dispenser which we turned off to stop my wife's eyes watering. There were two bed in the room. One of which you could literally feel the individual springs in it. Needless to say, it was going to be tough to sleep, but this was just the beginning.During the night there was this off and on grating and grinding noise coming from above. I think this may have been plumbing related. Further to this on some nights neighbouring units had loud gatherings and I considered calling the police, but that would have meant getting out of bed to let them in to the complex. We paid 99- 129 dollars a night for our room for three nights. As one other reviewer stated, there are better for less in the heart of the city.A positive, the service that we encountered was good and the secure off street parking is a plus. Why didn't we take up with managing about the issues? No 24hr reception when the issues are actually happening and, even if offered an upgrade the hassle of moving would simply not be worth it.I think out room had been renovated in the last few years but the cistern showed signs of deterioration due to age and the shower head was one that spurted water unevenly in all directions.Certainly not worth $129 a night.

good location
stayed only 1 night and was put in a room on the front above the reception. The room was spacious...but it had a disabled bathroom...there was no vanity or shelves to place your toiletries...i coped but if my wife was with me !!!! Due to the location of the room i found it quite noisy...road noise, noise from the complex and bangs from reception below. The location is great within the Palmer St complex...plenty of good restuarants/bars etc.and good if you want to go over to magnetic Island

LOVE LOVE LOVE staying here each time
We stay here in one of the Town houses with our very country (loud, energetic) kids and it is always amazing. There are friendly and helpful staff, well priced and excellent facilities. Our kids are always safe and still have room to move about. The two pools are so good too because we prefer our kids to be out the back not near road and onlookers. Thankfully we never come home with lots of washing because of the in room washing facilities. The conviences in the unit are great too but with so much more room than other establishments anywhere. We Love the little touches of luxury too. Only improvements we would suggest is to have ice in freezer, and cold water in fridge on arrival as it is a long trip in (over 700km) , and much more time to stay there, because the mental and physical rewards to a family that work 7 days a week every week in extreem conditions are valuable beyond words. Another nice idea would be to have full menu in rooms to entice people to restraunt more as it is reputed to be amazing.

Felt Let Down
This property did nothing wrong but it felt insincere. Room was nice. Too big for 1 and I was barely in it. Clean, comfortable. Rate was good value. It came down to service. They said all the right things but I just found the words rang hollow. I had a few problems which they attempted to sort out, but my impression was "it's your problem"... Which it was, but I would have felt better if the response had been more genuine. Like I say, on the surface all was good, but I've traveled all over the world from no star to 5 star and my gut feel isn't good. Not sure that I'd stay again.
