Great spot in Surfers
My wife and I recently had a 3 night stay at Marrakesh and were not disappointed. The location is terrific at the northern end of the main Surfers area and it is much quieter than being right in the city centre. A lovely ocean view appartment on the 10th floor with views of the surrounding city skyline, the ocean and back inland to the hinterland and the superb sunsets. The only real noise you could hear were the birds in the morning and evening. The complex is well located only a few minutes walk to the main shopping area and plenty of restaurants and cafes Also only 2 blocks back from the main beach. Great pool/spa and gym facilities and our tariff included a $10 breakfast voucher daily and a 25% discount in the restaurant on the day we arrived. Unfortunately we didn't take advantge of the dining offer, but the breakfasts in the restauarnt overlooking the pool were very pleasant. Would definately stay again.

Just fantastic!
I have just spent three fantastic nights at Marrakesh Apartments at Surfer's Paradise.I booked on Wotif and got three nights plus a $50 voucher at the on-site restaurant thrown in. With free secure parking, heated pool and spa, gym, and close to everything, this option was hard to pass up. I thought for the deal, it had to be too good to be true, so didn't have high expectations. My room was on the second floor, and as I realised this, thought this must be the catch. Expecting a room with lots of noise from the nearby reception and a poor view, I was surprised to find the room was very quiet and peaceful, and my view, even though not far off the ground was surrounded by trees, with views to the surrounding buildings of Surfer's Paradise. All in all, I was impressed. The only strange thing I found about the room was a lack of tissues. As I had a slight head cold, this was a pain and I had to buy a box myself.Next I decided to check out the free voucher at the restaurant, and finding only one other soul in the restaurant I thought I may be in for a disappointment. I was wrong. The meal I had was top class, one of the most memorable dining experiences of my life!I had an eye fillet steak, topped with a garlic prawn, scallop, and green lipped muscle, on a bed of buttered spinach, and a kipfler potato on the side. Amazing! The eye fillet was a generous size, so even though it was not a large meal, I was quite satisfied. I then had the sticky date and raisin pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream for dessert. That was amazing of course!I walked out very happy, and only disappointed by the fact I didn't realise whatever I didn't spend on the voucher was forfeit (I was planning to go back and use my last $10 the next night). Oh well, it was a meal I would have gladly paid $50 for, so I wasn't too upset.I found the bed comfortable, and slept well, which is normally unusual for me in a new bed, so I was happy when I woke up.I spent a lot of my time in my room, as I was there to do some writing for my thesis, and most of the time it was quiet and I got lots of work done. A couple of times there was some noise from drilling as there was some work going on in the car park, but this was rare.I was greatly disappointed that the observation deck was closed due to the recent storm, which was back in January. I was looking forward to a great view, given I was on the second floor. I also couldn't work out what would be so badly damaged that we couldn't have at least gone out to see the view, but perhaps there were concerns about safety or it was being refurbished. On the last day, I checked out at ten AM and asked if there was a place I could sit to continue working on my thesis. The very friendly staff on the reception desk kindly allowed me to stay in my room for the rest of the day as obviously no-one else had it booked.I was blown away by the generosity of this, and as a result I got a lot of work done. All in all, I had a great, very affordable trip, relaxed, and got a lot of work done. It was exactly what I was after. Thanks Marrakesh!

comfortable relaxing apartments
we just stayed for 5 nights we had a lovely ocean view apartment on the 8th floor. very comfortable apartments with all the comforts we needed. we have stayed here twice previously. we arrived early 10.am and our apartment was ready for us. we enjoyed the lovely indoor and outdoor pools and spas. we had $10 vouchers each for our breakfast. the Kesh restuarant was very nice and the service swift and tasty.we love the location 15 minutes walk to either the Oasis shopping centre or surfers paradise cavill ave.

On the bus route
We stayed 4 nights. Check in was quick and efficient. Spacious room, but dated with cane furniture. Roof top was closed due to recent storm, well that was 3 weeks ago and no sign of any fix up, would have thought this would have been done or in progress, so don't know what we missed up there. There was a dog present on the premises, which I think is a bit off. We couldn't bring a dog with us, so why should staff behind the counter be able to have a dog? One day a lady was walking around the ground floor, and the dog was following. Not a good sign. Too bad if your allergic to dogs. Not much in the way of parking, only a few parks, and of course the staff park there as well which makes it even less parks for customers, not good. Maybe they should be parking on the road. Bus stops right at the door, with an excellent timetable. Restaurant for breakfast and tea on site, but we didn't try them, breakfast expensive, cafe down the road, all breakfasts under $10, very reasonable and yummy. They also do pizzas for tea.Not far from the beach, walking distance to Oasis shopping centre with heaps of cafes. Not really a family resort, ok for couples. It isn't family orientated, needs more feelings / atmosphere about it.

Good place to stay
The room we stayed in was a little odd - it looked like it was previously a studio room, but had a partition built around a bed to make it into a 1br apartment. Still, it was a good location, not far from the beach, and the pool area was very good.I wouldn't recommend it for families. I can understand the reasons for some of the house rules, but no inflatable items in the pool and needing to ensure kids are completely dry before they go inside - it would be difficult.Parking seemed to be at a premium too. Our room came with parking, but we found no spare parks one night upon returning to the hotel.
