Liars
Please do not stay at Glenmore; I inquired about staying there and was told there was a $25 cancellation fee. So I booked two rooms. I later had to cancel and was charged 10% of the entire 3 day room charge for EACH room. When I explained I was quoted $25, they said what are you going to do, you can't do anything and we can charge your card whether you like it or not. I will never stay there, I would encourage anyone staying there to take pictures of your rooms so you don't get charged for something that 1) isn't there or two already broken, once management lies, they always lie.

Mother's Day weekend
The front desk staff was wonderful. The maid service wasn't that great. The tub wasn't clean when we arrived & no toilet paper what so ever. A section of the hotel is going thru repairs which I'm hoping we stayed in a room that will be remodeled eventually since you could tell on the areas that had been patched up yet needs more love put in to painting etc. The clock was unplugged because there wasn't an outlet to plug it in. No phone in our room what so ever or a bathroom counter. Bathroom mirror is a medicine cabinet without shelves. The window is single paned so it gets cold at night & you can hear everything going on outside. The beds were very comfortable which was helpful for my back. It doesn't take long to walk anywhere & had fun learning some facts on the Ghost Tour about this hotel. The staff allowed us to stow our luggage hours before we could check in & keep it there hours after we checked out so we could go have fun before we had to leave the harbor. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

DIssappointing Honeymoon
Came in and had to wait for our room (Clark Gable Suite) to be readied (even though it was vacant the night before according to online reservations). Got into room at 3 and they were still cleaning. Left bits of string all over carpet. When we went to use the in-room jacuzzi, it didn't work. Called and waited about 10 minutes for someone to show up and they couldn't figure it out so they called for a plumber who found that the tub was leaking onto the circuit breaker, so they calked the leak and ran an extension cord for the time being and said they would come back while we were out to fix it. Anyway, we stayed 4 more days and it still wasn't repaired. And then talk about NOISE. Repair men all day and golf carts all night with people yelling, etc. It got quiet about 3 am and then about 6 am the garbage truck and the street sweeper came. Street sweeper spent about 15 minutes every morning cleaning a street that was a very short block long. Maid service was horrible. Tub was NEVER cleaned while we were there. We had to call in order to get the $500 a night room cleaned, and then they only came in and wiped up the bathroom and took out the trash. Of course, the WI-FI never worked, it broke like two weeks earlier. Only good thing was the view from the upstairs bedroom and the fact that you were centrally located, but NOT on the beachfront like you are led to believe,. You are 1/2 block away. Also, couldn't get a ride back to the pier.

Good location, comfortable bed
Good location in central Avalon. The service was friendly and we were able to leave our bags at the desk before check in. A free shuttle to the boat was provided as well as continental breakfast. The rooms were clean but need some tlc. Overall we were satisfied, not blown away.

We were very pleasantly suprised by all of the updates and renovation done to the hotel. Our room was impeccable and completely updated with a new flat screen tv, refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom looked like it had just been recently been renovated with all new appliances. However, you still felt the warmth and elegance of a turn of the century hotel. We will definitelty be back! I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Catalina, so that they can experience the true beauty and history of the island.
