PAPER THIN WALLS : (
Great location. Paper thin walls and concrete slab floor/ceilings that act like a drum head. I can hear every door in the entire building as it slams closed. During the busy early evening hours sounds like a drum chorus. Since this is Vegas people will be coming and going all hours of the night as well and I'm sure we wont get a good nights sleep. Dont understand why hotels dont address this very common concern as Its fairly simple to minimize this major problem in design and specification process of any building.

They could do better
Room was not thoroughly cleaned prior to my arrival, but the staff quickly responded to my request to correct my findings. The location is off-strip and may be difficult to get to where you want to go; a shuttle is provided to a single strip location.

Doubletree always a great place to stay
I have stayed at Doubletree in Las Vegas everytime I visit as they are prompt on pickup from the airport, always have a warm cookie ready and if possible will upgrade your room if you are a Hilton Honors member. Hotel is clean, beds comfy and rooms spacious. If you need a place to stay, pick the Doubletree on Warm Springs, Applebees is also next door

I like this Doubletree a lot
This is perhaps one of my favorite doubletree hotels in the US. It is not fancy or with a super crazy room. It is indeed fairly typical doubletree decor but the room size is good. However Las Vegas can be a bit intense to me personally, so this Doubletree is closed enough to the strip but I can yet have a quiet evening. The front desk staffs and the drivers are very friendly and helpful, and they have frequent shuttles to the nearby outlet mall and MGM in the strip. There is also an Appletree restaurant, which is great. However my main complaint is the in-house restaurant. It has changed hands many times - it was a Au Bon Pain when I started staying here and now it is a make-shift cafe. The breakfast buffet is okay, as I get a coupon as a hilton elite member. However, the selection is fairly unimpressive. The decor of this cafe/restaurant is awful and the table and chairs remind me of a cafeteria, rather than a proper hotel restaurant. I really think the hotel really needs to debate on the future of this cafe/restaurant. Either spend some money in upgrading the cafe into a real restaurant, or change it a more casual bistro/cafe joint, or simply work out a deal with the Appletree to send hotel guests there for lunch/dinner, and just use the hotel cafe space as a breakfast room. Regardless, it needs a major renovation. The restaurant just looks sad. I am thankful for the Applebee next door.

Great hotel when flying from Vegas back home
A great hotel when you are flying from Vegas back home. I love the fact that they are close to the McCarran car rental center. If you have an early flight you just hand in your rental car the day before and take the complimentary shuttle to the airport the next morning. Saves you a lot of time and hassle.Room was clean and comfortable which allowed me to have good night's rest before my long flight back to Europe. Did not try their restaurant for dinner or breakfast. I did try the Applebee's close by which is always a safe bet.
