Our number one choice of hotels in Singapore
My hubby and I stayed at the Scarlet for a week in April and will definitely be booking here on our next trip to Singapore. The location of the hotel is ideal. It is in Chinatown and just a stones throw from the fantastic Maxwell hawkers food market where you can find a range of local and neighbouring country dishes (our favourite was the chicken rice from Tian Tian Hiananese) and also backs on to Club Street which has great late night wine bars, fantastic Italian and French restaurants and a sophisticated night life. The Scarlet is also close to so many great sightseeing destinations and no matter where we went, it never seemed to cost more than SGD 10. We also did a half day bicycle tour with Lets Go Bike Tour (well worth doing!) which, again, was located just a few minutes away from the hotel. There are also some fabulous boutique clothing shops just a few doors down and Antoinette's- a French bakery offering a big range of beautiful pastries and cakes and open until late.The hotel itself offered fabulous service, including daily room servicing and a turndown service in the evenings. The rooms were quiet, decorated with a touch of class and very comfy beds.The rooftop spa was also a great additionand, not once, did we see other guests up there.We booked our room through Agoda and got a great deal, it was much better value than the five star larger hotels which, for three times the price, could not have possibly offered the same level of personable service.We didn't eat at the restaurant as it was quite expensive in contrast to all the great food spots nearby but had a few glasses of wine there during our week and enjoyed the atmosphere and attentive service.We will definitely be booking into the Scarlet on our next visit.

Scarlet Hotel: Lovely and Interesting place to stay
We stayed at the Scarlet Hotel for 1 night on a stop over from Europe. The hotel was quite a surprise with the most amazing decor. This is a boutique hotel on the edge of Chinatown in a great location. Although it is well positioned, it was in a quiet street.The room was a luxury and well appointed, it also had a large balcony which was great.The roof top bar and restaurant was wonderful, beautifully decorated and the food fantastic. Breakfast not included in the cost of the room which was a little dissapointing.When I booked the wrong date for the accommodation, and only realised the previous night when in another country, I called the hotel and they were very helpful and changed to the correct night without a problem. DP.

One Of The Best Little Hotels In The World
The Scarlet hotel has been a favourite of mine for years and while I used to stay three or four times a month this was my first stay in three years.Having been used to the hotels distinctive feel of efficiency and friendliness it was with some trepidation I returned as an unknown stranger on this occasion, as all the old familiar faces had changed.I can say nothing has changed and it remains a world class gem. By the end of the first day of my three day stay I felt one of the family once more. The staff are as friendly and efficient as ever and although I had my AC breakdown in the middle of the night it was all handeld so well it was but a minor inconvenience.Well located on the edge of China town a fantastic array of restaurants, shops and culture are all within easy walking distance at half the price you would be paying on Orchard Road.The hotel is a converted row of shop houses making the interiors compact and unusual. The rooms are small, well appointed and charmingly decorated. This is not for those looking for floor space or a family wanting an extra bed.To me there is no other hotel in Singapore quite as as special as the Scarlet, which can be summed up in the old adage, "Small yet perfectly formed".

A little too pricey for what it is worth.
My partner and I stayed there for one night just to treat ourselves. We took the Passion Suite. The decor of the room is unbeatable. A four poster, glossy black lacquered black frame, backed by the elegant, velvet tufted headboard on a king size bed. This room has an outdoor jacuzzi and the staff will come and set up the bath for you when you tell them you will be using tonight. This room is fantastic for couples who wants a nice setting to carry out their bedroom adventures. This room makes you feel real luxurious and probably add on to your adventurous nature. Great for a special occasion but for the price per room per night, I would rather get a room at The Ritz Carlton with bay view. Oh the service was great though.

Beautiful little hotel at excellent location
I stayed 3 nights in the hotel in the deluxe room. Room size was adequate and bathroom a spacious one with all the amenities available, which is very convenient for a light traveller like me. The location is excellent, with two MRT stops of Northeast line and Eastwest line. There is a food court nearby for local delights and plenty of restaurants and bars around the corner. Turndown service in the evening is available, which made my stay enjoyable having a clean room with abucket of ice aavailable.
