Stop over close to Shinagawa station
We used this hotel as a one night stop over to be near to Shinagawa station to catch the Narita Express early in the morning.First of all: NO WIFI anywhere... unless you wanted to hire an IPAD from them or something like that. I was too tired to investigate. Apart from that there is nothing majorly wrong with the hotel, but there is not much good to say either:- We had BF included and it was ok. - All staff I encountered was friendly but somewhat indifferent. - The room was of a good size, mine was facing out towards the train lines and even high up I could hear the constant noise.- Yes, like many others commented, my bed was a futon disguised as a western bed. I personally prefer the firmness to a super soft mattress and slept well - but I admit it was at the extreme end.- From what I saw it was clean but lacking any soul. It would have been depressing if I had to stay more than a night!We ventured out to find somewhere to eat. Less than 10 minutes from the hotel you find Shinagawa station. We had a simple but really good dinner at one of the restaurants just before you get to Shinagawa station on the station side. A couple of steps down you will see a row of restaurants with vending machines to buy your dinner tickets before entering. We mastered the technology and had a fabulous soup/noodle meal. I had spend 10 days at a Seminar House situated at the outskirts of Tokyo and there was a world of difference! I am glad I spend most of my time there rather than in this hotel.

Fantastic Staff
I recently stayed here on a business trip and was very happy with this hotel. The staff were great, nothing was a problem for them even down to loaning me a plug adaptor as I had the incorrect one. The hotel is very quiet to the point I was wondering if it was mostly empty, the complimentary newspapers on the doors was the only give away as to how many rooms were in use. I had heard stories of very small hotel rooms in Tokyo but this was not the case here. While not opulent there was plenty of room for all the usual things (armchair, table, desk, etc). Other reviewers have complained about the beds and whilst very firm I found them fine to sleep on.It is a short walk to Shinagawa station which connects to the bullet trains (Shinkanzen), Narita Express (to and from the airport) as well as the local train and subway network. There isn't anything to do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel but around the station are all manner of shops, markets and restaurants. If you don't feel like the walk it's 710 yen in a taxi.

clean, quiet, but a little expensive breakfast
I like the kindness of the staff and how they set my room every day. The view over Tokyo is great from the 23rd floor. It does not even seem there are 35¿¿C and humid air outside: the air conditioning is quiet and efficent.I chose this hotel because it is close to my office and a train station. Public transportation in Tokyo is at the top and allows to reach any place in a short time.The hotel's restaurant cousine is good, but probably with little portions. The breakfast in the morning is (at least for my pocket) expensive (30$). Anyway it is of good quality, both Japanese and International food. Tokyo seems to be a very expensive town.

Holy Hard Batman!
The hotel is located in a very nice spot, fairly quiet with Japanese gardens all around, but that is about the end of the positives. The rug and all upholstered parts of the room were drab and stained. The bed, while of appropriate size, was hard. When I say hard, I mean hard like the mattress cover was a piece of plywood. I was originally scheduled to stay here for a total of 5 nights, but after the first I looked for another location. I ended up at the Strings which was much cleaner and more comfortable and actually connected to the rail station. Yes, the cost was about double, but when trying to be productive sleeping well goes a long way.
