Excellent
I had an excellent stay at the Henry Jones, it is in an incredible position with an incredible heritage yet with a striking contemporary edge. The knowledge of the staff concerning the history of the building, the area and the best visits in the city is a reason to stay in itself. The staff made for a hassle free stay. The hotel doubles as a modern gallery that showcases the works of leading Tasmanian artists. I am certainly looking forward to staying again.

Excellent hotel and the art was a bonus
Loved this hotel- only stayed one night but it was so clean & comfortable we will definitely return. The artworks are a lovely feature, but the true highlight was the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff!

Location
Very central, easy stroll to everything. We were booked for 2 nights and decided to stay for 4. First 2 nights were magic, very comfy room ( a little noisy in the morning from about 5:15 as it was a harbour view room and you get the noise of the cars driving over the clinking bridge as well as the garbage trucks )...however that can be easily overlooked with all the positives. Room was very spacious and had a very calming ambiance.The resteraunt was great value for money, we went 2 nights and thoroghly enjoyed both experiences...and the manageress ( wish i knew her name) definately made it an enjoyable night with her efficiency, attentiion to detail, and welcoming smile.Both coffee shops were lovely, good food and teaHousekeeping were wonderful, quiet, went about their business with a friendly smile and nothing was too much for them. Everytime they walked near us we got a friendly greetingReception....well probably the easiest role in the hotel to be friendky however surprisingly unfriendly...didnt let that spoil our experience though.Would recommend for all age groups however recommend you book in advance as they charge alot more for short notice ( our extra 2 nights were in an inferior room, saggy bed and not enought towells, yet substantially more money ( almost the same as Mona which you just cant compare!!)Didnt know about the art tour ( wish I had have been told about it)

Elegance & history beautifully blended
We arrived quite late in the evening for our stay at The Henry Jones Art Hotel but we were quickly & warmly welcomed, checked in, with our car being valet parked for us in their secure carpark overnight. We went up to our deluxe spa harbour view room - a beautiful blend of history & elegant modern fittings. Exposed brick walls, beams & rafters displayed the original IXL jam factory setting whilst feeling welcoming & warm with clever lighting, king bed, flat screen tv & gorgeous all glass bathroom plus all the other extras you would expect from a hotel of this quality. A newspaper was delivered each morning with a welcome note about the day's weather forecast & letting us know that the concierge could help with anything from tour guide information to booking things. All staff were friendly & helpful - when we need our car we just let the front desk know & it appeared within minutes! The hotel is indeed an 'art hotel' - pieces for sale all over the walls - lovely & intriguing ..... & the use of the original jam factory warehouse into a 5* hotel has been well considered. We had breakfast in the attached 'atrium' caf¿¿ called Jam Packed .... great not to have to go in search of breakfast every morning. If there was one small disappointment it was that the walls/floors are not as thick as they seem - we easily overheard a whole telephone conversation next door & a few nights we had noisy upstairs neighbours.However, this did not spoil our overall enjoyment & the situation of the hotel on the harbourside is perfect for easy walking to a big array of restaurants, the famous Salamanca Market, the city centre & much more. We would definitely choose to stay here again & would warmly recommend, especially for something special as it is not a budget hotel!!

Special accommodation
We stayed here in the lead up to our elopement. We dont usually spend this much on accommodation but for a special occasion this was a fantastic hotel. Just beautiful and great young staff. Totally recommend the rooms and the breakfast was awesome, though a bit pricey
