Stay in apartment for business
I stayed here twice for two weeks stays for business.Its a one bedroom apartment with laundry facilities which is fantastic when you are away somewhere for work. The apartment is very clean although when you stay for two weeks I do think they could do a little more cleaning than they do. Like perhaps run over the bathroom sink in that time. However the furnishings etc all are modern and clean. i also like the fact they leave you complimentary laundry powder. The dishwasher seems to only work on a low temperature so I found the dishes quite often did not come out sparkling but still with a little greasy film on them.My room has always been quiet but I noticed in the summer they do get very hot! So needed the aircon on more than I usually would. The staff are very helpful and have always got the bookings correct and answered any questions that need to be answered. The location is great. Whilst not in the most trendy part of town it is in walking distance to the main cultural precinct for art gallery, musueums, botanical gardens. The mall is not far away and I would walk up to the trendier part of Rundle Street for good food and cinema after work. I also found a FANTASTIC restuarant right behind called Apothecary 1878. It might be in a seedier part of town but dont be fooled. This restuarant oozes charm and once inside you could think you are in Paris. The food and wine list is sublime.If i go back to Adelaide for business I will stay here.

Damn awful and noisy
Absolutely awful room. The springs were poking out of the matress and most uncomfortable and when you do get to sleep there is a night club closeby which has the loudest foulest music pumping all night til 7 am. Indeed am seriously sleep deprived and most uncomfortable and very grubby . Not again .

NO!
This place looks fancy. But thats all its got going for it. They have over charged my credit card over $250 and have done nothing but give me the run around, played the blame game and talk rudely to me. The cushions on the bed were stained and dirty and the shower cubicle was mouldy. There were no towels provided in the gym/pool room so you had to use the ones from your room. Never again will I be staying with Oaks.

Great place to stay
I stayed at the Oaks Embassy for 3 nights in a one bedroom apartment. The apartment was at the back of the building overlooking Hindley St and was quiet,very clean and had everything I required. The staff were very helpful and happy to assist. A great place to stay and I will definetly stay there again.

Functional but lacks any warmth
My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary over the ANZAC holiday. We spoil ourselves quite a bit with hotel stays and have stayed in many Adelaide hotels. We always choose a hotel with a spa and as we had not stayed here before we thought we would give it a try. I wouldn't go back. Check in was efficient but not welcoming and the lobby has no ambience whatsoever. Our room was functional but again there was nothing warm or charming. The room was well set out and had the facilities as promised but it was just blah. I was most concerned at seeing some sort of electrical box left open with wires exposed, although they may have not been working. It really looked awful. The floor tiles as you walk in looked as if they had had bleach spilled on them or there had been some sort of chemical accident. Whoever chose the bathroom tiles obviously did not walk on them with bare feet, the tiny tiles were very harsh underfoot. The oval spa was lovely but again whoever designed or installed it was probably quite tall. A small step would help those of us who are short or have short legs! The bed was very comfortable and because of the design of the room the tv was tiny! It could only fit in one corner and it has to have been the smallest tv I have seen in a hotel but as I say, a bigger one would not have fitted. Unfortunately as is often the case, our sleep was interrupted by guests coming back to their room at 3.30am, 4am and 4.30am, giggling, laughing and talking very loudly. Our room was quite close to the lift. The supplies left in the room were minimal. 4 tea bags, 4 sugars, 4 very cheap and nasty coffee sachets and four tiny milk capsules (most places leave a small longlife these days). The cooking utensils were of good quality and enough to cook a decent meal if you needed to.The highpoints of this hotel was the spa and the comfort of the bed. If you were coming for business and needed a central place to stay where you could do some cooking and do your own laundry but you didn't need to spend too much time in the room, this would be ok. For a romantic weekend, it just didn't cut it. It was just too functional. For a business traveller, it would be ok.
