Lovely building. Unfortunately woken at 5:45am by the kitchen staff radio. Woman onreception extremely unpleasant and didn't like criticism at all. Shame because the hotel was lovely and reasonably priced.

Amazing value.
I booked a suite here (#219) for only $97.00 AAA rate and it was the size of a small apartment. It had a full kitchen with new modern appliances, full sized refrigerator, etc. I'm not sure why though because the cabinets were bare, no glasses or utensils at all. The living room had an LCD HD TV mounted in the corner. This room has three very quiet air conditioners that worked well. The king bed is in a separate room and was very comfortable. The only downside to the suite was that the bathroom is the smallest I have ever seen. It was the size of an airplane bathroom with a shower crammed into it, no kidding. I don't know how someone wider than I am (and I am not at all wide) would be able to squeeze past the sink to get to the toilet. You could wash your hands in the sink while sitting on the toilet, so that might save you some time ;-)The hotel is old, so don't expect too many fancy frills. The carpet is old and faded, but clean. I sort of felt like I was going to fall through the floor in a few places, but that's part of the charm of an old building. It does have a modern elevator and free wi-fi that worked well. The windows are old and single-paned, so you will hear street noise during the day. It was very quiet at night. The downtown area empties out after 5:00 PM. There was loud music from a bar across the street on Friday night, but it ended at a reasonable hour and wasn't disturbing. There are several good restaurants and lots of antique shops within a three-block radius of the hotel. The area felt safe and the town is charming.Breakfast is included in the rate and is ordered off of a special menu in the hotel's restaurant. If you want more than what they offer for free, you can order from the regular menu and get $3.00 off the price. The free selection is plenty, so unless you want something like Eggs Benedict you probably won't have to pay anything. Breakfast is served until 10:30 AM, then they serve lunch until 2:00 PM. The hotel restaurant does not serve dinner. Service was prompt and friendly everywhere in the hotel.There aren't a lot of reasons to stay in this city unless you are looking for the historic experience, but if that's what you're after, this is the place to stay.

Great Spot
On our Americana road trip after flying into Vegas but not wanting to stay there our first stop was Henderson Nv. If you are looking for a mini but cheaper Vegas, Henderson is fine, but we wanted a "real" town. We found it in Boulder City NV and in its historic hotel, the Boulder Dam Hotel. We arrived there early--10ish and were not only able to check in but were upgraded to a suite.The room was great actually more like an apartment. The bathroom was small but we didn't care because the place was so authentic. There is a museum right in the hotel which is definitely worth checking out. Boulder City is a real town--sidewalks, restaurants, parks...exactly what we were looking for. The included breakfast in the hotel restaurant was excellent. If you go say hello to Sandy at the front desk. She's the best. I would definitely stay there again.

A great place to stop en route to the Grand Canyon
After flying into Las Vegas at night, headed for the Grand Canyon, we chose to drive a half hour and stay at the Boulder Dam Hotel rather than stay in Vegas, and we were very glad we did. It's an historic hotel, so the room was on the small side, but had all the basic amenities and was very clean. The full breakfast that came with the price of the room was excellent, served in a charming dining room, with a patio that would be lovely on a warmer morning. We were also pleasantly surprised by what a pretty little town Boulder City is, full of lovely parks and green space, a real oasis. Overall, the Boulder Dam Hotel was definitely the best hotel deal of our two week trip!

Excellent Value
Historic building, clean rooms and friendly staff. Your breakfast is included. I would recommend this hotel if you need to stay a night near Hoover Dam. Walking distance to dinner, we ate at Dillinger's and very satisfied.
